Kin + Carta is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering Practice. This is a Hybrid position out of our Chicago office and may require a few days per week in office with the client.

• Consulting with Fortune 500 clients in order to build enterprise-grade cloud-native applications
• Develop and maintain full-stack solutions;  front-end (user interfaces), back-end (APIs), database, and DevOps development to fit business needs
• Supporting team members in order to deliver products to market in an efficient manner
• Partnering with top-notch designers to create award-winning user experiences
• Bridging the gap between elegant front-end design and existing enterprise backend architectures
• Mentoring less experienced engineers to foster their career path and growth

• 5-8+ years of professional software development experience with Java / Spring Boot
• Strong understanding of modern Spring frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Services, etc).
• Experience with testing frameworks and tools (Junit, Mockito, Cucumber etc.)
• Working experience with the ReactJS modern web application framework
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins
• The ability to work in a pair programming environment using modern development principles like XP, TDD as necessary
• Strong working experience with public cloud platforms, preferably AWS
• 3+ years of experience working with or working knowledge of JDK 11+
• Experience working with or working knowledge of web services ( REST APIs )
• Knowledge of BPM, event-driven and microservice architecture
• The ability to work on CST (Central Standard Time) working hours
• The ability to work hybrid out of our Chicago office, and occasionally onsite with our client in their office in the suburbs of Chicago

• BS in Computer Science, or a related field
• Code quality practices utilizing tools like SonarQube, contrast, etc. 
• Experience with Kubernetes 
• Experience with RDS, databases, SQL queries
• Previous experience delivering products in an Agile environment
• Experience developing enterprise applications that support high traffic volumes
• Previous experience leading a team
• Previous consulting experience
