We're seeking a passionate self-motivated Senior Fullstack/Backend Engineer to help us build the next generation of decentralized financial products. As a key engineering team member you will take ownership of our backend systems and infrastructure while contributing to our user-facing products. You will focus on delivering high-performance scalable solutions that power our trading platforms analytics and more.

Who are you?

A senior-level fullstack/backend engineer with strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and relevant backend technologies (e.g. Node.js databases cloud platforms). You are a crypto-native with hands-on experience developing decentralized applications leveraging blockchain technology preferably EVM-compatible.

You are passionate about building cutting-edge technology for the next iteration of the internet with the use of cryptography and understand the importance of building scalable efficient backend systems to support user-friendly web3 applications.

You have experience and are culturally aligned with fast-moving small teams. You have also worked at remote (globally distributed) startups. You are self-driven comfortable wearing many hats and can swiftly ship high-quality code when needed. You can identify company priorities own them and iterate quickly to ship the best solution.

You can write and speak fluent English and have great communication skills.

The Role:

As a Senior Fullstack/Backend Engineer at Premia you will work closely with our CTO and the existing engineering team to architect develop and optimize our backend systems and infrastructure. You will also collaborate with the frontend team to build user-facing features and new iterations of the Premia application.

In addition you will work with other departments such as Design QA Operations and Marketing teams to successfully plan implement test and deploy new features and enhancements.

As a senior engineer you will mentor other team members and ensure that our backend systems are well-designed performant and scalable.

Responsibilities:

- Build highly available efficient fault-tolerant backend systems both serverless and cloud.

- Design and implement systems to index complex on-chain data for fast easy access (e.g. subgraphs)

- Develop mission-critical bots and smart contracts that monitor blockchain state and manage funds

- Design and architect backend REST and/or GraphQL APIs

- Engineer large-scale data pipelines to drive insights into protocol performance and user behavior

- Collaborate on frontend development bringing designs to life as interactive web3 applications

- Write clean well-documented code and participate in code reviews to maintain high-quality

- Mentor other engineers and evangelize best practices in a highly collaborative environment

Requirements:

- 4+ years of professional experience in software engineering ideally in fintech or a related field

- 2+ years of experience building scalable solutions on top of AWS or GCP infrastructure

- 2+ years of experience in Typescript and Node

- 2+ years of hands-on experience with blockchain/web3 projects (including personal/hackathon)

- Exceptional proficiency in TypeScript Solidity and relevant backend technologies (e.g. Node.js databases cloud platforms)

- Experience working with container technologies like Docker

- Familiarity with Kubernetes

- Strong fundamentals in computer science software design patterns networking etc.

- Track record of delivering high-quality code with a focus on performance security and scalability

- Passion for DeFi game theory mechanism design and other web3 concepts

- Outstanding problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity tempered with humility

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to collaborate cross-functionally

- Self-starter with a desire to take ownership learn new skills and mentor others

Bonus Qualifications:

- Professional experience in the Ethereum/web3 ecosystem

- Familiarity with automated testing DevOps CI/CD pipelines

- Knowledge of cryptography zero-knowledge proofs and other cutting-edge web3 technologies

- Open source contributions especially to major web3 projects
