The Position
Arevon is recruiting for the position of Senior Fund Accountant, an outstanding opportunity for individuals seeking an exciting, high-growth work environment in one of the most important industries for the 21st century. Reporting to the Funds Senior Manager, the Senior Fund Accountant will perform a wide range of accounting duties as part of the team and autonomously within the Finance and Accounting team.
Those responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• High visibility with investors of three funds valued at $3.9 billion, collectively, in capital commitments including capital calls, distributions and various reporting requirements
• Accountable to ensure compliance with various controls, corporate policies and statutory requirements in areas of responsibility
• Work with counterparts to ensure consistency among processes and support operations
• Assist in audits and interface with external auditors and tax compliance professionals
• Responsible for the timely completion of month end, quarter end and annual financial close
• Prepare journal entries and ensure proper general ledger coding in support of monthly closings
• Review complex contracts
• Set up and maintain fund budgets and fund cost structures in the accounting software
• Assist in preparation and distribution to financing parties of monthly operating and finance reports
• Willing to travel and work early or late hours as required to support operations in multiple time zones (New York, London, Abu Dhabi, etc.)
• Ability to work autonomously with little supervision while continuously ensuring alignment of objectives
• Other projects as assigned
Experience
• Combination of 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in an accounting department with relevant experience; superior academic performance in lieu of work experience will be considered
• Experience in a nationally ranked public accounting firm or relevant renewable energy company is highly desired
• Proven track record of working well within a team environment, taking ownership of processes and procedures, experience in shared services center environment is helpful
• Excellent interpersonal skills, highly motivated and results oriented, process oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
• Proficient on MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, etc.
• Strong working knowledge of NetSuite and related accounting information systems, or related applications in a construction environment preferred
Education
• Superior academic performance from a major institution is required
• Minimum BS/BA in Accountancy or Finance, MBA is highly desired
• CPA license is highly desired
