Job Description
The Senior Fund Accountant will be responsible for reviewing/preparing financial statements for both funds, preparing/calculating capital calls, review investment report valuations, waterfall calculations and liaising with our current 3rd party fund administrator.
Responsibilities
- Review and assist with preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual fair value financial statements prepared by third-party fund administrator.
- An understanding of the organizational structure, and a proven ability to work across teams and vendors towards a shared objective.
- Supervise the fund treasury and liquidity management process (capital calls, distributions, and coordination with the financing team).
- Maintaining workpapers to support the Fund's performance.
- Prepare/Maintain fee structure schedule.
- Preparing quarterly/annual regulatory filings.
- Assist with analyzing quarterly appraisal reports.
- Participate in the gradual build out of the organization.
- Work closely with Investor relations to manage capital calls and distributions to investors in accordance with the fund agreements.
- Collect, enter, and extract data from our investor portal, Juniper Square.
- Collaborate/oversee third party accounting team, Juniper Square
- Facilitate annual audits and preparation of audited financial statements.
- Assist with ad hoc investor requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration required
- 5+ years experience with fund accounting
- Significant experience in Microsoft Office and Yardi (preferred)
- Thorough understanding of financial statements and working in accounting software.
- Private equity background a plus.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Candidate must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task.
- Excellent time management skills can easily conform to shifting priorities and timelines.
- Trustworthy and reliable, sensitivity to confidential matters is required.
