Senior Gen-AI Technical Lead

Vanguard’s Corporate Systems team is looking for a visionary Senior Gen-AI Technical Lead to drive the design and implementation of cutting-edge generative AI solutions. As a senior technical leader, you’ll provide strategic direction, hands-on expertise, and architectural guidance across a wide range of technologies. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new and existing tools, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions that align with Vanguard’s mission. **This hybrid role can be based in either Charlotte, NC, or Malvern, PA** Core Responsibilities • Lead critical software, middleware, and hardware projects across multiple platforms, delivering complex development, design, and architecture specifications. • Ensure the viability and quality of IT deliverables, recommend architectural options, and approve technical outputs. Conduct rigorous testing and provide production support. • Identify and approve technical solutions, resolve complex issues, and perform root cause analysis to prevent future problems. • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, evaluate change impacts, and influence technical direction. • Maintain deep knowledge of IT methodologies and emerging technologies. Mentor team members and contribute to strategic product roadmaps. • Review and author technical documentation, ensuring clarity and adherence to standards. • Drive continuous improvement in technical standards and development methodologies. • Write clean, maintainable code and test artifacts, leveraging automation and modern development practices. • Enhance team productivity through collaboration and implementation of scalable frameworks. • Ensure compliance with IT and Information Security policies, and contribute to their evolution. • Design systems that support efficient business processes across internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications • Minimum 10 years of related experience, including at least 5 years in software development. • Proven experience leading and designing complex technical solutions. • Familiarity with Agentic systems or Generative AI technologies is highly desirable. • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree preferred. Qualifications That Make an Impact • This role is approximately 30% hands-on development, with the remainder focused on solution architecture and design in the Generative AI space.
