Senior General Ledger Accountant

Alarm.com, a highly innovative and entrepreneurial SaaS (Software as a Service) company, is seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our growing, fast paced accounting department. 

Responsibilities: 

• Assist with managing inventory including, but not limited to, uploading inventory batches, coordinating with Supply Chain and Manufacturer for monthly reporting, verifying/calculating pricing, and reconciling the inventory count balances.
• Prepare calculations for cost of goods sold related to international inventory
• Perform quarterly financial statement flux analysis 
• Record lease entries in accordance with ASC 842
• Maintain prepaid expense schedules
• Record fixed asset purchases to the subledger
• Prepare intercompany eliminations.
• Maintain and prepare recurring journal entries
• Prepare account reconciliations for assigned areas in a timely manner including the ability to research to interpret and ensure accuracy and understanding of account activity
• Assist with external year-end audits including preparation of necessary work papers.
• Work with other departments to obtain necessary information to create monthly/quarterly accruals.
• Perform other related accounting duties as assigned.
• Develop new ways to eliminate manual processes

Required Experience:

• BA/BS in accounting or related field coupled with a minimum of 4 + years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong preference for GAAP knowledge and experience
• Strong preference for public company experience 
• Previous work experience in software/hardware industry preferred
• Should be well-versed in GAAP accounting
• Ability to work effectively in an environment with reporting deadlines and demonstrated ability to support closes on a regular schedule.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Must have excellent time and workload planning skills, including the ability to create project plans and coordinate the work of peers toward the completion of common goals
• Must have strong accounting system skills
