Job Description

Team: Others

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Geophysicist, Multiphysics in Canada.

This role sits at the intersection of applied geophysics, advanced modelling, and client-facing technical expertise, focusing on the interpretation and inversion of complex subsurface data. You will work on multidimensional multiphysics projects involving electromagnetic, gravity, and magnetic datasets, integrating airborne, ground, and borehole information to deliver high-value geological insights. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will manage project execution while collaborating with multidisciplinary experts in geoscience, computation, and software engineering. The position also combines technical delivery with client engagement, requiring you to support regional customers and contribute to technical pre-sales activities. You will be part of an innovation-driven environment where advanced software, AI-enabled workflows, and scientific rigor are applied to real-world exploration challenges. The role is ideal for a hands-on geophysicist who enjoys both deep technical work and customer interaction in a fast-evolving, collaborative setting.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for executing multiphysics geophysical projects, including data quality control, processing, and multidimensional inversion of electromagnetic, gravity, and magnetic datasets. You will independently manage complex and sometimes imperfect datasets, applying advanced geophysical methods while collaborating with internal experts when needed. You will also contribute to the development and optimization of workflows, improving processing techniques and enhancing service delivery capabilities. In addition, you will support technical sales activities by engaging with clients, delivering presentations, and providing both remote and on-site expertise for software and imaging solutions. You will maintain strong client relationships in the mining exploration sector and ensure high-quality technical outcomes across multiple concurrent projects.

  • Perform QC, processing, and multidimensional inversion of EM, gravity, and magnetic data
  • Manage and resolve complex geophysical challenges with a high level of autonomy
  • Integrate airborne, ground, and borehole datasets into unified interpretations
  • Develop and optimize geophysical workflows and contribute to methodological improvements
  • Provide technical sales and client support for software and imaging solutions
  • Deliver presentations and on-site/remote technical assistance to clients
  • Collaborate with internal multidisciplinary teams on complex geoscience problems
  • Maintain strong relationships with mining exploration clients across the region
  • Requirements

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree or higher in geosciences, physics, mathematics, or a related analytical field, along with at least 5 years of experience in mining-related multiphysics data analysis and modelling. You bring strong expertise in electromagnetic methods, gravity and magnetic interpretation, and geophysical inversion workflows. Proficiency with industry-standard geophysical software and programming skills (particularly Python) is expected. You combine strong analytical thinking with excellent communication skills and the ability to present technical concepts clearly to both expert and non-expert audiences. Experience in client-facing roles is essential, particularly in supporting technical sales or consulting engagements. You are highly organized, solution-oriented, and comfortable working in complex, data-rich environments.
