Our Regulatory Engineering and Geological Services (REGs) Group within TEXAS ENERGY is seeking a Permitting Geology Intern to work out of our Houston, Texas - Park Row OR Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Kelwood Ave office.

Your Impact

• Support major segments of Underground Injection Control (UIC) projects across continguous United States
• Assists in the preparation of UIC Class I, II, III, V, and VI well permit applications and no-migration petitions
• Assist in the planning and reporting on UIC Class I and Class II Mechanical Integrity Tests (MITs)
• Develop a working knowledge of state and federal UIC regulations, including their development and implementation in-practice
• Assist in overseeing the geological evaluation of drillin wells as well as working with the engineering, land and drilling personnel to support an effetive, efficient drilling program
• Prepare schematics and drawings
• Assist with field work
• Use various softward including CAD and GIS
• Write reports and other documents
• Other duties as assigned

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Geology or Engineering or related Undergraduate, Masters, or PhD program with a minimum GPA of 3.00, with GIS experience.
• Demonstrated interest in Geology or Engineering or related field and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP's work and projects.
• Strong CAD and GIS skills.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior internship experience in the oil and gas industry or relevant coursework preferred
• Prior leadership involvement on campus preferred
