Role Overview
As Sr. GL Accountant you will be a key contributor of the GL team and drive the monthly close process in accordance with GAAP. You will be responsible for reconciliations consolidation of entities and application of company policies and procedures to ensure compliance and safeguarding of company assets. You will also work closely with our financial reporting team in support of the quarterly and annual financial reporting
process and other stakeholders on an ad-hoc basis. You role will report to the Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities

Complete period-end closing activities including preparation of journal entries reconciliations and flux variance analysis for management reporting.

Own Debt Equity and Lease Accounting.

Ensure GL reporting and Netsuite is up to date to support ongoing/new reporting requirements.

Participate in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages and financial statements in accordance with investors’ requirements and GAAP.

Support continuous process improvement projects and drive implementation.

Assist in external auditors’ requests including preparing supporting schedules answering auditors’ inquiries financial statement preparation and memo writing.

Assist in documenting financial and accounting closing processes and implementing internal controls.

Perform special ad-hoc projects as requested.
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Business Administration or related field.

3-5+ years of General Ledger accounting experience with a solid understanding of US GAAP.

Public accounting and technical accounting experience.

Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and Word/Google Docs.

NetSuite and FloQast experience is preferred.

Ability to navigate a dynamic fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and challenging deadlines.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong written oral communication analytical and interpersonal skills.

High attention to detail with the ability to keep the big picture in mind.

Experience working in a fast paced PE or VC backed organization.
$90000 - $105000 a year
Firstup expects the base salary for this role to be between $90000-$105000. The starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including but not limited to position offered location education training and/or experience.
