Amplitude is looking for a world class Senior Global Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic growing Accounting team. You will be responsible for leading global operations for a rapidly growing global organization. Working cross functionally you will play a key role in Global end to end payroll processing.The individual in this role thrives on solving problems, working independently to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines, and will own the role while embracing our cultural values of Humility, Ownership, and Growth Mindset.
As a Senior Global Payroll Specialist, you will:Â
- Lead Global Operations which includes the US and 10+ countries in the EMEA and APAC regions.
- Understand and apply payroll concepts to process, review, and reconcile semi-monthly and monthly international payroll for 700+ hourly and salaried employees using Workday
- Responsibilities extend to new hires, terminations, transfers, one-time payments, equity, and fringe benefits.
- Support efforts of establishing payroll in new countries as the business dicates, ensuring country-specific regulations and statutory compliance are met.
- Partner w/ cross-functional teams in ensuring accurate supporting documentation and timely approvals are on file.Â
- Process equity transactions and quarterly releases, including global mobility; manage ESPPs including maintaining and updating participant elections, processing withdrawals and residual refunds.
- Partner with Accounting on GL Activities including Payroll JE
- Manage all employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on system implementations, integrations, process improvement projects, and other initiatives.
- Work closely with internal teams, third-party vendors and/or local agencies in timely processing of payroll funds, tax payments, amendments, invoices, regulatory filings, and other transactions.
- Develop, maintain and update standard operating procedures and job aids.
- Complete payroll-related journal entries in accordance with month-end deadlines; assist with account reconciliations and balancing of multiple global annual filings (T4, PD11, PD60, and more).
- Assist with internal and external audits, including year-end activities.
- Build custom queries; generate ad hoc reports.
- Research issues independently and complete tasks with limited supervision.
- Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
You'll be a great addition to the team if you have:
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on domestic and international end to end payroll processing experience preferably in a tech start-up environment.
- Working knowledge of global payroll best practices, country-specific regulations, wage and hourly laws, and/or tax filing requirements.
- High-level understanding of systems and how they interface; ability to easily learn new systems; experience with project management, systems implementation and integrations, preferred.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail. Strong research and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Effective communication and listening skills to clearly and concisely interact with all levels of the organization, including vendors and agencies.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive rapport.
- Proactive self-starter with the ability to think and work independently, as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficient with productivity softwares including MS Excel (pivots, sumifs, vlookups).
- Intermediate experience in excel, with creating pivot tables, x-lookups, if-statements.
- Strong communication skills, written/verbal, and the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
- Highly analytical, accurate, detail oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to be fluid in a fast-paced work environment.
- Workday experience is preferred.
