Senior Global Strategic Sourcing Manager

Position Description

Be responsible for all aspects of supplier development, ongoing performance management, and business needs. Be responsible for developing and executing the company’s sourcing strategy for parts related to electro-mechanical assembly, electronics, plastics, machining category, and any other components intrinsic to the successful running of the organization. Develop commodity strategies by identifying potential suppliers, analyzing supplier capabilities, selecting suppliers, determining prices and spend strategy, and finalizing terms and conditions of agreements. Analyze current spend and continually evaluate current suppliers, consolidate spend across supply base to create leverage, analyze purchasing trends, and develop sourcing alternatives. Optimize global supply chain performance through cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking. Develop an in-depth understanding of value-added manufacturing processes and costs, reverse logistics, and market intelligence, and apply this knowledge to influence the company’s future product roadmap and sourcing decisions. Issue RFX for sourcing assigned commodities. Review, analyze, and clarify quotation/proposal from suppliers. Provide right recommendation based on sourcing process for approval and finalize/release contract/PO. Drive price negotiations processes to ensure that commodity pricing is best in class and drive continual cost reduction and avoidance initiatives through ad hoc price negotiations. Evaluate and provide guidance on final selection of suppliers, perform value analysis, and evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models. Evaluate supplier business proposals and present recommendations that will result in cost savings, avoidance, or containment. Identify supplier consolidation opportunities that will generate savings from executing strategic sourcing projects. Develop sourcing and negotiation strategies that delivery against business objectives and achieves sustainable relationships with suppliers. Design, conduct, and synthesize supplier, industry, and market research for assigned commodities to develop sourcing strategy. Address all areas of category management, including category business plans, global market, pricing analysis, and procurement support. Drive cost transparency and build Total Cost of Ownership models to support sourcing decisions. Lead and be a key contact for various supplier selection processes to meet the growth and cost objectives and collaboration activities in early product transfer phase. Identify and achieve saving according to benchmark study, VA/VE, competitive bidding, resourcing, etc. Work effectively with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms for sourcing. Understand the trade-offs between cost, volume, and quality in order to strike agreements that meet the company’s performance criteria and secure long-term supply continuity. Assess and mitigate risks to the business, manage global supply chain disruptions in real time with the support of a cross-functional teams, and monitor current category market conditions and technology roadmaps, and identify supply/demand challenges and opportunities. Maintain supplier relationship by effective communication, track supplier KPI, drive supplier to improve, and lead commercial issue resolutions. Assist Supplier quality teams with supplier ISO Quality audit and Quality management system.

Minimum Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in an Engineering field, plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or a related position.

Skills Required

• 3 years of experience leading supply chain duties to support New Product Introduction (NPI) programs including defining scope, understanding engineering requirements, strategic sourcing, and program management, to effectively launch product on time.
• 2 years of experience leading continuous improvement (CI) projects in supply chain operations using Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques.
• 2 years of experience digitizing supply chains by implementing and establishing workflows for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and Product Lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
• 2 years of experience managing printed circuit boards assemblies, complex electronic assemblies, and contract manufacturing services to support NPI and sustain production.
• 2 years of experience with Request for Quote (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP), costing analysis, negotiations, supplier evaluation, supplier qualification, and supplier selection processes.
• 2 years of experience supporting ISO 9001 Quality Management System external audits and representing the company management to auditors.
• Domestic and international travel is required 15% of the time.
