Senior Golang Engineer

Virtasant is a leading cloud consulting services provider. We heavily focus on lift & shift, cloud-native development, cloud cost optimization, and migration services. As a consulting company, we often are faced with the challenge to create an engineering team in a matter of a week or two. To do that, we have created a secondary support business that runs an engineering talent network and provides staffing services.

Our client is a leading provider of pay equity platforms and analytics and they are looking for a Senior Golang Engineer to join their team.

About the role 

We are looking for a senior backend engineer to join the backend engineering team and collaborate on challenges at a fast-paced startup. Customer success hinges on high-quality platform and application development. Your solid and dependable software engineering work for our products will have a meaningful impact on helping companies achieve fairness in the workplace.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with senior and staff engineers to design and develop small to mid-size features and services delivered to our customer's end users.
• Execute pragmatic and scalable solutions that will grow with our company.
• Work with the entire engineering organization (frontend, product, QA, and site reliability) to ensure backend projects meet all team requirements.
• Focus on secure coding practices and maintainability to ensure new feature implementations fit the needs of a growing engineering organization.

Required Skills

• • Software Engineering experience with an emphasis on reliable, performant, scalable, and maintainable cloud-based technology platforms
  • Depth of experience using Golang to build web applications 
  • Experience architecting cloud based applications (we use GCP)
  • Robust experience with data model and schema design
  • Experience with PostgreSQL
  • Strong knowledge of API architecture and experience building APIs
    
    • The candidates that also have experience with Redis, Cloud PubSub, and unit testing will be preferred
    • Good communication skills that enable you to interface with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional roles in a highly collaborative environment
