Senior Graphic Designer

Resource Innovations is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer to join our growing team in Chicago. This position can be remote but will support our largest client out of Illinois. As Senior Graphic Designer with Resource Innovations, you will be responsible for designing print, digital, and web graphics to inspire and drive creative solutions and have an immediate impact on the customers and clients Resource Innovations serves. This role must work effectively in a team environment. An ideal candidate will have experience using a Windows platform with primary software expertise required in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc.), Microsoft Office products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.), and email marketing platforms. WordPress experience a plus

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop collateral materials and deliverables for various energy efficiency programs and clients. Designs must draw upon insightful, creative and effective strategies specific to the client needs.
• Design graphic content, illustrations and infographics.
• Work closely with project teams to develop materials that fit artistic sensibilities as well as client goals, including production design.
• Coordinate with internal and external marketing staff to design materials in-line with established branding goals-adhering to the brand guidelines of multiple (5-20) clients, as well as Resource Innovations as appropriate to project.
• Responsible for development of design and layout of marketing collateral (print, email, online, etc.), as well as implementation of online campaigns and print production projects with vendors.
• Responsible for the creative process, concepts, design and press ready files from conception to delivery.
• Responsible for coordinating and communicating with external vendors as primary contact (print production, software, websites, social media, email services, etc.).
• Present designs, with rationale and gain approval for new concepts and designs.
• Review junior Graphic Designer and/or Production Artist's work to ensure quality.
• The job entails about 25% print design, 25% production design, 35% email design and 15% web design.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism or related field or equivalent professional experience required.
• 5-8 years of professional graphic design experience.
• Portfolio that shows a breadth of work in both web and print, with an emphasis on layout design, production design, and programming capabilities.
• Ability to work with, understand, and contribute to creative direction from designers.
• Able to balance competing priorities and projects and work under tight deadlines.
• Disciplined time management skills and superior attention to detail.
• Thorough knowledge of printing processes and file preparation.
• The ability to work under pressure and meet concrete deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Proven time management ability. Able to meet deadlines and anticipate difficulty in meeting deadlines.
• Must be comfortable working on Windows platform.
• Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)
• Proven creative and strategic thinker; highly detailed oriented; strong eye for design and ability to tell a story (think like a storyteller).
• Understands the balance between art and information and how to apply communication principles to designs.
• Mangement experience overseeing a small team of designers.
• Experience is a plus but not required:
• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS, including experience coding HTML emails.
• Experience testing and troubleshooting HTML emails in email clients and multiple browsers.
• Experience with setting up domains, hosting, and launching websites independently.
• Experience with social media and Google Analytics.
• JSP, PHP and/or javascript knowledge a plus.
• Experience designing infographics a plus.
• Knowledge of or experience in the energy efficiency, technical, or engineering and consulting industries a plus.
