As the operator of a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC), we are broadly engaged across all aspects of space- delivering innovative solutions that span satellite, launch, ground, and cyber systems for defense, civil and commercial customers. When you join our team, you'll be part of a special collection of problem solvers, thought leaders, and innovators. Join us and take your place in space.
At Aerospace, we are committed to providing an inclusive and diverse workplace for all employees to share in our common passion and aspiration - to carry out a mission much bigger than ourselves.
Job Summary
The Systems Engineering Division (SED) provides unmatched experience in systems engineering to the U.S. government and to numerous public and private agencies, universities, nonprofit organizations, consortia, and commercial companies involved in the advanced application of space technology. From systems architecture development to system analysis and optimization, astrodynamics, orbital debris, navigation, failure analysis, mission assurance, cost and schedule assessment, and economic market analysis, SED exploits an incredibly broad array of engineering and business disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs and national challenges.
The Space Architecture Department (SAD) contributes its experience in enterprise and system architecting to inform and shape decision making. We approach our customer missions from a holistic perspective that encompasses program strategy, capability development, and transformation. Our designs promote the discussion of the appropriate balance between human expertise and skills in organization, process, and non-materiel solution design with complimentary solution architecture concepts. We architect evolvable capabilities, keeping an eye on the space technological, socio-political, and economic ecosystem. We ensure the solutions we co-create with our customers will stand the test of time and the challenges of both preferred and probable futures. We apply cutting edge digital engineering (DE) and model based systems engineering (MBSE) methods and tools to develop and document architectures, and aid our customers in the development of their DE and MBSE strategies, requirements, and implementations.
As a Senior Project Leader - Sr. Ground Systems Engineer, you'll be supporting the Systems of Systems Engineering Office (SSEO) staff providing technical and analytical support to government customers in the portfolio decision support, risk analysis and enterprise portfolio planning areas. This position will support Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) customers by providing technical support to efforts developing systems for tasking, collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination (TCPED) of multi-phenomenology intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) products. The successful applicant will be working with government customers to define requirements and develop concepts of employment for TCPED systems that support both IC users and DoD forward deployed users by leveraging technical and operational ISR expertise.
What You'll Be Doing

  • Influencing the force design of future ground and C2 architectures and development of future ground TCPED systems for IC and DoD customers
  • Helping to modernize ground systems and architectures for the space enterprise
  • Working across space mission and program boundaries to identify common program challenges and risks, provide recommendations, and lead issues to closure
  • Working closely and effectively with external stakeholders in integrated product teams that include government, FFRDC, and contractor members
  • Communicating effectively with all levels of Aerospace corporate management through timely reporting of technical issues and recommendations
