Checkr has been recognized in Forbes Best Startup Employers and is a top Y Combinator company by valuation.

As Sr. Group Manager, Product Marketing reporting to the VP of Product & Customer Marketing, you will lead a team that drives go-to-market strategy and ongoing marketing programs for key areas of Checkr's platform, including the Decide, Growth & Manage product areas. This role requires a self-driven marketer with a proven ability to build a deep understanding of customer needs, to bring market insights that inform product strategy, to craft positioning that conveys the value of complex products, to enable sales teams with collateral and education, and to lead successful go-to-market efforts that drive customer acquisition and expansion.

You will be expected to quickly build an understanding of Checkr's products and our growth strategy, and identify opportunities for product marketing impact. Strong collaboration and relationship building skills are a must, as this role involves working with diverse stakeholders across multiple teams.

You are a strong strategic communicator, love product marketing, and enjoy applying insights and data to craft compelling stories that resonate with our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Own positioning, content, and GTM strategy for the Decide, Growth & Manage product areas, working with stakeholders across Marketing, Product and Sales to achieve growth goals.
  • Lead, coach and grow your product marketing team, setting goals, reviewing deliverables, managing performance, and developing people.
  • Lead a systematic mode of inquiry to deeply understand the changing needs of Checkr’s customers, and champion those customer needs internally.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to influence product direction and strategy for the Decide, Growth & Manage product areas.
  • Craft compelling positioning and use customer proof points to convey the value of Checkr in a variety of channels, including website, sales collateral and thought leadership content.
  • Build and execute plans for new product launches, including directly producing and working with your team to produce deliverables such as internal briefs, blog posts, videos, sales collateral, etc.
  • Co-create and co-deliver training content for Sales, Customer Success and partners.
  • Keep internal audiences abreast of product evolution with frequent updates and detail on upcoming product launches and platform enhancements.
  • Be a creative thinker who actively shapes the ways Checkr differentiates our product offerings for customers in a crowded and complex ecosystem.
  • Track, analyze and report progress against marketing program goals and ROI.

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing roles or similar in B2B SaaS.
  • Prior team leadership and mentorship experience preferred but not required.
  • Clear understanding of SaaS business models and KPIs.
  • Clear understanding of SMB / mid-market customers — and the routes to market utilized to reach these customers.
  • Deep experience writing marketing copy for use in websites, sales materials, and other channels.
  • Significant experience enabling sales teams, building sales materials and partnering with sales reps for success.
  • Experience in conducting market research and customer interviews, and experience in research data analysis and interpretation.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills required, informed by experience working closely with cross functional teams.
  • Highly motivated individual with the presence, confidence and energy required to engage and influence many different types of individuals within an organization.
  • Ability to work strategically as a proactive self-starter with independent decision making, as well as ensuring operational delivery and having a hands-on approach.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

What you get:

  • A fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • Learning and development allowance
  • Competitive compensation and opportunity for advancement
  • 100% medical, dental and vision coverage
  • Flexible PTO policy
  • Monthly wellness stipend, home office stipend
