Senior Growth Strategist
The mission of the growth strategy team at Fastly is to accelerate growth by identifying and evaluating growth opportunities, as well as optimizing our ability to capture them: we help the organization determine where to go, as well as the best options to get there.
Residing in the product organization, we are generalists in a world of specialists that seek to give Fastly’s unique technical and organizational strengths leverage in the marketplace. We are truth seekers that drive clarity and alignment with reason and data. In doing the above, we seek to ensure that Fastly is growing the right way, with a solid foundation for the future.
We are a small but mighty group that is looking to add a Senior Growth Strategist to expand our ability to answer key questions and solve key problems for our stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Support quarterly business reviews and annual planning processes with analysis of business performance
- Driving insights into underlying mechanisms behind performance and exposing opportunities and challenges to growth
- Conduct primary and secondary research to evaluate business hypotheses and investment theses
- Improve our understanding of market needs, key segments, trends, and competitive landscape
- Partner with product teams to build business cases for new product initiatives
- Provide an understanding of the opportunity size and build revenue models in partnership with product, finance, and sales
- Support building of board and investor decks through concise articulation of the product strategy
Work Hours: This position will require you to be available during core business hours
What We're Looking For
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 - 7 yrs experience in a strategic role (consulting, strategy, product, etc.) 8+ yrs total experience
- Technology company experience: do not need to be a technologist, but need to be able to connect our innovations to business opportunities in partnership w/ product and GTM partners
- Structured problem solver: ability to bring clarity to ambiguity by structuring problems to isolate essential components and identify signal from noise
- Big picture thinker: ability to see the forest from the trees, connecting the dots across functions and time horizons to form cohesive strategy
- Analytics chops: ability to build quantitative models to validate business hypotheses and scenarios
- Ability to drive projects: developing problem statements, establishing project plans, identifying key deliverables, and executing
- Strong business partner: ability to understand objectives of partners and collaborate to achieve results
- Humility: ability and desire to create leverage from the insights of others. Desire to serve, confidence to act
- Agility: ability to deliver value iteratively and willingness to fail fast
- Integrity: desire to do the right thing the right way
Preferred Qualifications:
- Enterprise B2B SaaS experience
- Strategic planning experience, ex: building product revenue forecasts

Preferred locations for this position are:
- San Francisco, CA
- Los Angeles, CA
Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.
This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.
Salary
The estimated salary range for this position is $122,280 to $179,820.
Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
