Senior HR Generailst
Job Description
Position Overview:
The Sr HR Generalist will partner the site HR Manager in development, implementation and administration of HR policies and programs to support the business and operational objectives. This role will provide leadership to a broad array of HR generalist activities including but not limited to: recruitment & selection, onboarding, employee/labor relations, leadership coaching & development, compensation, benefits, and other HR processes.
In this function you will:
- Serves as a key point of contact for employees to connect with the human resources department, while promoting Eaton values and providing courteous and timely service to all employees
- Supports various employee relations activities such as supervisory coaching, conducting investigations, and administering discipline
- Lead hourly and salaried talent acquisition and management activities, including building and maintaining a successful internship program, diversity and veteran outreach, and serving as a liaison with Eaton University Relations team
- Strengthens employee retention and engagement through establishing the standard onboarding and orientation processes with integrated efforts from various functions
- Build organizational capability by supporting the Eaton talent management and organizational effectiveness initiatives in areas such as succession planning, organizational capability reviews, mentorship program, leadership development training, and performance management
- Assists in the preparation of Contract negotiations with the Local Union. Administers the grievance and disciplinary process, interprets contract language and advises on day-to-day matters related to wages, benefits and working conditions to maintain a consistent, fair and equitable treatment of employees and competitive stature in the marketplace.
- Coach and influence leadership regarding policies, practices, laws and regulations to ensure all human resource policies and programs follow local and governmental regulatory requirements and are driving an engaged culture.
- Serves as local subject matter expert for employee benefits and payroll questions, coordinating with remote centralized HR service center and payroll teams as necessary, and coordinates benefits enrollment meetings, communications, and processes
- Generates and analyzes regular and ad-hoc reports for regulatory, budgeting, and auditing purposes
- Facilitates and participates in company-wide committees in support of the overall Eaton goals, such as wellness and community involvement.
- Partners with HR Manager to complete local wage assessment and develop wage adjustment proposal (if required)
- Facilitates the end employment process for both voluntary and involuntary separations
- Prepares and distributes HR related communications
- Updates and maintains HR policies and procedures
- Responsible for maintaining and administering hourly job bid process and seniority list

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum 2 years of human resources generalist and/or labor relations work experience
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business or Human Resources from an accredited institution
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Prior labor relations experience, including overseeing the adherence to a collective bargaining agreement & participating in contract negotiations
- PHR or SPHR certification
Position Criteria:
- Proficient in project management
- High level of proficiency with MS Office products/database management skills
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Organized and efficient
- Self-directed and able to investigate and implement solutions with limited guidance or direction
- High degree of comfort navigating ambiguous situations and ability to quickly shift focus as priorities change
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates professionalism and a service-oriented personality with all levels of employees and senior leaders
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, lean work environment
- Strong teamwork and collaborative skills
- Demonstrated ability and desire to progress to more senior levels of the Human Resources function
