The Senior HRIS Lead manages and configures new HCM design as well as supports the maintenance of the human capital management and payroll system, WorkDay (WD), in addition to other Human Resources systems. This position serves as the technical lead for assigned functional areas and partners with subject matter experts to scope and design new required functionality, ensure data integrity, create complex reports, design HCM analytics and dashboard, maintain release management & testing, and analyze data flows for process improvement opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Drive requirements gathering on a macro scale in colloboration with executive leaders; cross functionally execute HCM projects in support of the organization strategic company goals to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage complex projects as part of the HR Project Management Office (PMO), in tandem with functional owners, to fully scope, design, develop/configure and test new Workday functionality. Complex projects may include such projects as compensation planning/merit modeling (advanced comp), position management (advanced comp/finance), integrations, performance management, succession planning, data analytics/dashboards, etc.
- Projects/process improvement: Develop and implement process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy that must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation. Capitalize on solid project management skills in managing projects. Develop HRIS standard operating procedures and workflow for any new processes.
- System maintenance: Partner with IT system administrators in the review, testing and implementation of HRMS system upgrades or patches. Collaborate and lead functional and technical staff to coordinate application of upgrade or fix. Maintain HRMS system tables/objects. Document process and results.
- Production support: Lead and counsel teams to research efforts to resolve any HRMS problems, unexpected results or process flaws; performing scheduled activities and data audits; recommending solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements. Liaison with third parties and other stakeholders (e.g., payroll).
- Reports/queries: Design, maintain and support a variety of standard and complex dashboards, advanced reports or queries using appropriate reporting tools; maintaining & regularly documenting proper data integrity standards. Review technical efforts of colleagues to ensure quality standards are adhered.
- Advise and counsel the development of other HRIS team members, may also offer work direction and oversight of projects, audits, data and process integrity standards, etc.
- Training: Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Train employees and managers on new processes/functionality. Train new system users.
- Individual development: Lead research and maintain knowledge of current trends in HRMS with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and application of key technologies. Examine trends in information systems training, materials and techniques. Through classes, reading or other mechanisms, continuously increase both HR knowledge and HRIS application/tools knowledge. May lead user group meetings/conferences.
- Compliance: Drive the sharing of knowledge specific to business compliance to HRIS team and applicable stakeholders as related to systems. Evaluate impact of operational changes and recommend and integrate required system changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline
- 8+ years of HCM experience with a minimum of 4 years of Workday experience
- Workday Pro certification
- Deep domain expertise designing and configuring Core HCM, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, & Absence modules (inclusive of building eligibility rules, business process maps and connectors/impacts to other Workday modules)
- Significant HRIS project management experience, inclusive of developing project and communication plans with functional leads
- Advanced scoping of projects, configuration, testing and cutover to production
- Solid HR experience with strong business acumen with ability to correlate needs of business and translate to technology solutions
- Ability to maintain the highest levels of data security, confidentiality and professionalism
- Conscientious; very attentive to detail; ability to multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Flexible: willing and able to work non-traditional hours, on occasion
