Senior Health, Safety and Environmental Engineer is accountable for promoting and maintaing a high level of health & safety and environmental awereness within the organization. The position requires cooperation & coordination with all levels of personnel from different Garrett departments as well as contractors . He/she must ensure that for all the new products introduction a risk assessment has been performed in advance and all HSE incidents are reported and investigated in his/her area of responsability. Coordination of the emergency response system and loss prevention activities. Development and implementation of Behavioural Observation Program. Continuous improvement of HSE Management System.

Responsibilities:

Develop a sustainable HSE culture and support the plant departments in growing their HSE culture
Promote the HSE culture by conducting dedicated trainings, organizing campaigns and disseminate the HSE information towards the employees regularly
Ensure the necessary support for designing, implementing and maintaining the local HSE Integrated Management System, according with Corporate policies/ objectives/ procedures and ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 standards.
Implement the HSE Romanian and European legal requirements and Corporate policies, objectives and procedures at the plant level.
Ensure the necessary support for the implementation of the following activities at the department level: Risk assessment, Training, Machinery safety and equipment safe guarding, Contractor safety, Cranes and hoists, Ladders and scaffolding, Fall protection, Walking and working surface, Industrial hygiene, Fire prevention, Loss prevention.
Testing the emergency response system by conducting theoretical & practical drills/simulations as per the plan.
Ensure the emergency response equipment inspection, maintenance and regular testing is conducted.
Provide regular training (theoretical & practical) to internal emergency response team members.
Liason with local authorities (Emergency Situation Inspectorate, Environmental Agency, Territorial Labour Inspectorate) and facilitate any audit if required.
Involved in project management as loss prevention and environmental advisor.
Perform hazard identification and risk assessment for the workplaces/ workstations (including ergonomics analysis).
Document & maintain the data base for HSE Key Performance Indicators reporting (weekly, monthly, yearly etc.).
Perform internal audits and inspections, according with legal and Corporate requirements.
Participate at the Corporate & third party audits as well as regulatory agencies inspections.
Provide coaching to the employees with regards to health, safety and environment.

We Need:

Technical University Degree
Labor protection inspector according to Government decision 1425/ 2006
Risk assessor according to Government decision 1425/ 2006
Fire inspector certification
Internal auditor for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 and external auditor for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
Minimum 4-5 years HSE experience, preferable in automotive/ oil & gas/ manufacturing sectors

Good communication skills (writing, speaking) in English, both technical and non-technical HSE information for use in everyday processes (documents writing, attending teleconferences, meetings, etc.)
Computer and organizational skills required.
Cognitive skills: analytical and problem solving skills, as well as ability to provide a sound and reliable judgment in complex situations.
Soft skills (public speaking, able to deliver presentation, coaching skills)
High energy, positive "can-do" mind-set"
