Senior HTML5 Game Developer

SOFTGAMES is looking for a Senior HTML5 Game Developer to join our team and supercharge our games with exciting new features on instant gaming platforms, bringing joy to tens of millions of players each month.

The Senior HTML5 Game Developer designs, architects, tests and implements features into our live games. Further you'll work on bringing our games to existing and upcoming Instant Game Platforms. You will collaborate with producers, artists and other game developers to share learnings and best practices.

The Senior HTML5 Game Developer will ship robust and high-performance code, be passionate, and act as a fount of knowledge when it comes to game development. As part of a small, experienced and dynamic team you will enjoy a creative, challenging and collaborative environment.

**Qualified applicants will be expected to complete a technical assessment.

Your role:

• Develop new Instant Games to be played by millions of users

• Maintain and optimise game features of existing Instant Games

• Reduce loading time and bandwidth usage by optimizing code and assets

• Write robust, maintainable and extensible code

• Estimate the complexity of tasks and write technical specifications

• Contribute to shared libraries and communicate changes to fellow developers

• Share knowledge and help colleagues

Your profile:

• Great passion for games!

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience

• Shipped and maintained at least 2 games, preferably on multiple platforms

• Strong knowledge and experience with PixiJS and TypeScript (HTML5)

• Proficient in optimising and deep profiling of browser applications

• Proficient with build systems (e.g. Vite or Webpack)

• Experience with automated testing tools and CI/CD pipelines

• Ability to write well-abstracted, reusable and tested code

• Ability to quickly get up to speed with existing code and tech stacks

• Experience with the Facebook Instant Games SDK is a plus

• Open-minded, humble and always curious to learn
