Job Description:
As the Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Sr HRBP), you will
will partner with senior leaders across the functions to understand business priorities and develop and drive the people strategy. The Sr HRBP provides consultation and direction on all HR aspects of business decisions ensuring alignment with the Allison Values and Core Competencies to create a high performing culture and improve organizational success.
This role also works closely with the Global Centers of Excellence (COEs) to deploy best practice strategies in the areas of talent acquisition and development, organizational effectiveness, compensation and benefits and employee engagement and retention.
The Sr HRBP will act as a change agent to continually develop a culture and support an engaged, inclusive work environment. This hands-on position will provide guidance to leaders on employment law, policy application, talent acquisition and retention, performance management, change management and engagement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will provide proactive human resources leadership and support, build strong relationships with teams, and deliver sound advice and coaching to leaders taking into consideration local and federal legal requirements and where applicable international considerations.
What you will do:
General HR Support
- Provide support to managers and leaders in handling all human resource related activities which may include educating leaders on HR processes and tools, change management communications and the interpretation of policies and procedures.
- Provide counsel to management and on occasions to employees to maintain a productive and positive work environment, including developing employee engagement strategies, development planning and coaching.
- Partner with the employee relations team to conduct timely investigations, coach and advise leaders and resolve issues and concerns.
- Partner with leaders on workforce planning activities.
- Lead organizational design activities and ensure the structure, roles and responsibilities enable the functions to deliver strategic goals.
- Partner with the RPO (Recruitment Process Outsourcing) team to evaluate talent, identify sourcing strategies to attract top talent and quickly resolve issues.
- Participate with the Talent Management COE on intern recruitment and work with business leaders to provide best practices for university engagement using current alumni teams in order to fuel talent pipelines.
- Facilitate the talent acquisition process by partnering with Ask4Max, the COE in educating leaders on how enter requisitions in Workday, develop job descriptions, HRIS data integrity, and as necessary act as liaison with the hiring manager and the recruiting team.
- Facilitate leadership talent reviews using talent and role segmentation, succession planning and performance and potential development tools.
- Partner with the Global Total Rewards team to educate leaders on compensation strategies and support leaders with executing effective compensation processes.
- Partner with senior leaders and the COE to assess and provide solutions for leadership development which may on occasions include consulting with external vendors and recommending and facilitating organization effectiveness and training solutions.
- Partner with the Ask4Max team to educate leaders on manager self-service tools and assist with directing transactional employee requests to the Ask4Max Service Center.
- Consult with and advise leadership to facilitate employee success through effective coaching.
- Educate managers on SMART goals and mid-year and end of year performance assessment processes.
- Resolve employee performance issues to ensure appropriate corrective action steps are taken, including coaching, verbal and written warnings (corrective action) and Performance Improvement Plans.
- Ensure compliance with all state and domestic and international federal laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources matters.
- Partner with internal teams to participate in audits conducted by state or federal agencies such as the OFCCP
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business, Organizational Management or comparable discipline, or related field experience preferred.
- 7+ years as a HR Business Partner, preferably in a corporate environment
- HRCI or SHRM certification preferred
- Experience with HRIS systems - Workday preferred.
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Power Point, Word, Access, and Outlook
Required Experience
- Human Resource experience should include experience in employee relations, employee engagement, and talent development and succession planning.
- Business acumen, ability to understand business priorities and provide effective people solutions.
- Strong communications skills: interpersonal, oral and written.
- Must be able to work with and influence all levels within the organization.
- Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks and meet agreed upon deadlines.
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to analyze and translate data.
- Knowledge of Federal and State employment laws, Investigation Skills, HR technical knowledge in EEO, AA, FMLA, ADA, unemployment, and worker's compensation.
- International experience preferred.
