Senior Human Resources Generalist

Scope:
Serve as a Strategic Business Partner in administering a range of Human Resources activities including recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration. Promotes an environment of positive employee relations, maintaining confidentiality, establishing trust and credibility.

Essential Functions:
1. Is able to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization in an effective and respectful fashion.
2. Administer recruitment efforts for the organization. Participate in the review of resumes and applications and the pre-screening process. Confer with hiring management on interviewing, selection, and general regulatory issues.
3. Responsible for maintaining a thorough knowledge of benefits in order to provide accurate and timely responses to employee inquiries.
4. Assists in administering the FMLA leave process according to all requited regulations. Administers the Medical leave process according to GGI policies and communicates relevant information with employees and managers.
5. Provide support for leadership at all levels of the organization.
6. Process and distribute performance reviews and evaluations to managers. Follow-up with managers to ensure timely completion of such.
7. Identifies, investigates, and resolves issues of employee concern or conflict in an appropriate and timely manner. Responsible for conducting through and detailed investigations.
8. Conducts employee and manager training on topics such as benefits, policies and procedures and prevention of harassment and discrimination.
9. Collaborates with the VP of People and Culture and Directors on department projects, policy updates and various projects across the region.
10. Code and process all status changes, to include: promotions, transfers, etc.
11. Interprets human resources policies and procedures for employees and management staff.
12. Assists and participates in other department activities as requested.
Other Duties May Include but Are Not Limited To:
1. Demonstrate by words and actions a commitment to the Goodwill mission to help people with disabilities and other barriers to become self-sufficient, working members of the community.
2. Perform or assist with any duties or operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements.
3. Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules, keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.
4. Participate in any variety of meetings and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Bachelorβs degree in human resource management or related field preferred or a combination of equivalent experience.
2. 3+ years of generalist human resource experience required.
3. Knowledge of FMLA, COBRA, ADA and HIPAA.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
5. Understanding of state and federal employment regulation
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
6. Experience in the non-profit sector preferred.
Physical Requirement: General office environment
