Senior HVAC Technician

The Metro Group, Inc., located in Long Island City, NY is currently looking for a Senior HVAC Technician for their HVAC Service Division. This is a full-time, union-track position with full benefits. This role leads crews in repairs, modifications, and installations of various components of HVAC systems as well as independently completing troubleshooting and maintenance work. Qualifications include demonstrable experience with HVAC systems plus: · Leading and supervising a crew · Advanced troubleshooting of both air- and water-cooled HVAC equipment as well as PTAC units, water sourced heat pumps, and VRF systems · Ability to use various diagnostic tools for specific systems · Completing full preventative maintenance of HVAC systems · Advanced repair skills along with the ability to braze on all types of systems · Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills · Overtime availability · Agreeable and self-motivated attitude, willingness to take initiative · Enthusiasm in taking on assignments and responsibilities, willingness to learn · Detail oriented, taking pride in your work with a focus on quality · Excellent communication skills · Capable of working in a professional environment and providing great customer service · Willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures · Ability to meet physical requirements of position · Valid driver’s license · High school diploma or GED Applicable industry training and certifications are preferred but not required: OSHA 30, EPA 608 Certified, F60, etc. Please note training and certifications on your resume when applying. Additional responsibilities could include: · Driving a company vehicle · Lifting tools, materials and equipment up to 50lbs+ · Performing other miscellaneous tasks to support the operation, when needed.
