SENIOR INFORMATICS DEVELOPER

The role of the Senior Informatics Developer is to lead the development of informatics capability designed to optimize patient outcomes and increase operational efficiency at Montefiore. The incumbent will possess mature programming expertise, content knowledge, and problem solving skills critical for developing customized and sustainable data-driven solutions for problems impacting the medical center.

Education: Bachelor's Degree required in Informatics, Health info mgmt, Computer Science, or related. Five years' experience.

EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED• Extensive hands-on experience with SQL programming capability (writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting)

and/or experience writing Python scripts • Possess a deep understanding of data sources, data standards/best practices, and data quality• Experience in clinical informatics or data mining in healthcare or related fields• Strong ability to understand, categorize and translate business/user requirements to functional requirements• Ability to work in a team environment, meet deadlines, mentor and share knowledge.• Excellent interpersonal and writing skills to communicate and document user interactions, requirements, and create user documents• Demonstrated ability to take the initiative, establish/enhance business processes, and improve operational efficiency

PREFERRED:• Strongly prefer Epic Cogito certification (Clarity/Caboodle) • Experience working with Epic EMR and associated data repositories or data warehouses• Experience working with various types of health care data • Experience with clinical coding terminologies (ICD-10-CM, LOINC, CPT, etc)• Excellent presentation skills for effective communication of data insights
