Senior Infrastructure QA Engineer

xMatters, an Everbridge company, is hiring a full-time Senior Infrastructure QA Engineer to test and maintain the quality of our cloud-based software products. What You'll Do:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand infrastructure requirements, creating test plans and strategies
• Design, develop, and execute automated tests for infrastructure components using Python or a similar language
• Perform manual functional and performance testing as needed, ensuring comprehensive coverage of critical infrastructure areas
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and/or GitLab to facilitate continuous testing and deployment
• Work closely with DevOps teams to ensure the seamless integration of testing processes within Kubernetes-based environments
• Identify and report defects, providing detailed information to facilitate the resolution of issues
• Collaborate with the development and operations teams to implement best practices for testing in cloud environments (GCP or AWS)
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve QA processes
• Work with teams and product owners to ensure agile stories meet customer/company needs and follow the INVEST criteria (independent, negotiable, valuable, estimable, small, and testable)

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven experience as a QA Engineer, specifically in testing infrastructure components
• Strong proficiency in Python (or similar) for test automation, and automation frameworks
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins and GitLab for continuous integration and continuous deployment
• Experience with using Kubernetes or other tools to manage containers and automate deployments
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Solid understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an effective drive for improvement
• Detail-oriented with a strong analytical mindset

Bonus If:

• Relevant certifications in QA, DevOps, or cloud technologies
• Experience with other scripting languages and automation tools
• Knowledge of security testing practices in infrastructure
