ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a member of Apex's HR Learning and Organizational Development team, the Senior Instructional Designer will have a big impact on the firm. You'll work across all our different businesses and have genuine opportunities to shape the future of our HR efforts and reinforce a growing, thriving culture. We are looking for a motivated and energetic person passionate about advancing learning experiences that facilitate the acquisition of knowledge. This position requires a tech-savvy educational enthusiast to design and develop learning programs.
You'll be responsible for:
  • Collaborating with organization units and internal/external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design training programs aligned with competencies and strategic learning opportunities
  • Develop engaging learning experiences, including facilitation guides, online learning modules, materials, exercises, activities, and assessments
  • Create compelling course content utilizing written text, visual graphics, video, audio, interactivity, gamification, and situation-based learning
  • Set learning objectives, define measurements of success, and create content that meets the need
  • Develop and Deploy modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes to measure the effectiveness of the learning experience
  • Monitoring the effectiveness and quality of training programs
  • Analyze and Apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design
  • Collaborate to maintain and strengthen training programs, including templates, guidelines, and training materials
  • Maintain and Support the Learning Management System or External Learning Platform
  • Overall responsibility for successful planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling learning programs
  • Conduct Change Impact and Readiness assessments to identify key changes or readiness gaps that will impact the organization, and develop and execute change management activities to support the transition
  • Design and implement organizational effectiveness interventions
  • Effectively communicate weekly updates to the Director of Learning & Organizational Development
  • Ensure all milestones and learning objectives are met/delivered on time, within scope and budget.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, and coordinating enrollment.
  • Track ROI and regularly report on key training metrics to determine the effectiveness of all training and development programs.
  • Design and deliver new hire orientation training and continuing education programs.
  • Facilitate training courses through Instructor Led Training (ILT) in both live and virtual environments as needed

Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience in Learning and Development industry
  • Presentation and training delivery skills
  • Experience implementing competency framework model
  • Experience with change management and organizational effectiveness
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with designing learning programs based on business needs
  • In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Strong skills in technical writing, curriculum writing, or lesson planning
  • Experience writing instructional text, audio and video scripts
  • Extensive experience with creating learning paths in Workday LMS and Lessonly LMS
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in Audio / Video production and editing (Camtasia, Premier Pro, Vyond etc.)
  • Strong proficiency and experience in e-learning development software (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Lectora)
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite or other graphic design tools
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (e.g. Saba, Cornerstone, Skillsoft)
  • Self-starter that thrives on challenging the status quo
  • Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities in a fast-paced and challenging environment
