For this role specifically, we are seeking individuals to help support the mission of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to innovate and modernize public health science through Information Technology (IT). In support of the overall mission, the OCIO is in the process of modernizing and transforming the use of IT to help CDC move into the digital age.

We are seeking a smart, talented, self-motivated, and experienced Instructional System Designer to join our team. Specifically for this role the Senior Instructional Designer will develop and execute learning programs that generate deep and broad skill-building plus generate modern work habits. The ideal candidate will capture training needs, present recommendations, and deliver learning solutions. They will also design and develop training plans, courses, and content in various mediums (traditional, online, video) to support requirements and leverage instructional design and performance improvement processes to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate instructional materials.

Requirements

• Deliver services to accelerate learning and adoption of useful principles and practices.
• Work with SMEs to design and develop modular, customizable learning & development programs for multiple personas.
• Deliver training, coaching and mentoring services to stakeholders and staff.
• Support change initiatives while navigating complex organizational relationships, bureaucracy, and resistance to change.
• Diagnose problems and propose solutions using the language of your stakeholders, adjusting explanations to their level of technical sophistication.
• Develop new insights into situations and propose creative approaches to address requirements.
• Experience in skill assessment and talent management
• Experience leading and completing a service design initiative, engagement, project, or strategy
• Experience participating in the design, development, and delivery of digital products, platforms, or services
• Experience working on a cross-functional team in an agile or iterative environment
