Senior Intelligence Analyst, Insider Risk
Location: Roseland, NJ is the preference - or any city EST Time zone
This position is part of the Insider Risk Program within ADP's Global Security Organization's (GSO) Global Fraud team. The objectives of the insider risk program are to protect business confidential information, trademark secrets, and proprietary / intellectual property (IP) against compromise, funds theft, espionage, or information technology sabotage by an insider.
Duties of this role include: aid in exploring and defining the insider risk landscape at ADP (including critical assets / crown jewels), engineer detections to proactively identify insider risks, perform technical / behavioral investigation on alerts or other subjects of interest escalated from other channels (e.g., ethics hotline, tips portal, HR, etc.), document processes and procedures, and help define and publish insider metrics. To accomplish these objectives the analyst will need to utilize various skill sets, including: a curious mindset, analytical and technical capabilities for threat modeling and engineering of detections to mitigate risk, and investigative skills to analyze logs, suss out additional context and perform interviews.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Develop an understanding of ADP's insider risk landscape - identifying and prioritizing sensitive information, assets, and activities to improve ADP's insider threat posture.
  • Proactively defend ADP from insider threats by designing, implementing, and tuning detections, hunts, and indicators related to insider risks.
  • Conduct additional analysis and investigation on subjects related to insider detections / indicators or escalations from other channels (e.g., ethics hotline, HR, etc.). This will include:
    • Pulling activity logs, developing a timeline of events, and assessing context around those events.
    • Conducting interviews of managers and / or other ADP associates for additional fact finding and assessment.
    • Performing OSINT / social media searches to develop additional intelligence.
    • Researching ADP's policies to determine policy and security violations.
    • Liaising with other groups on an investigation including other GSO personnel outside of the insider team, associate relations, HR, Legal, and other business units.
  • Help to define and document insider procedures, processes, and runbooks.
  • Aid in creating insider risk metrics and dashboards for use by senior leadership.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience with CrowdStrike and/or IRM - Microsoft Insider Risk Management is a HUGE plus.
  • Significant experience using technical capabilities to extract, transform, combine, and analyze logs to decipher meaning and trends.
  • Experience conducting analysis of information related to theft and / or theft of funds.
  • Solid understanding of the tactics, techniques and procedures used by insiders to engage in malicious and/or negligent conduct.
  • Experience with scripting languages to perform more complex analysis and automate detections or components of an analysis (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Perl, etc.).
  • Strong experience interacting with databases and using SQL to extract data, perform analysis, join tables, etc.
  • Power use of Excel.
  • Experience with social media tools and a high level of comfort performing searches and discovering additional information about a subject of an investigation. Bonus points for having the ability to configure and use Maltego (or similar tool) for these purposes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and non-normal hours if necessary, during a critical insider incident.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree is required in finance, accounting, criminal justice, intelligence or security studies, investigative journalism, data analytics or a related field of study
  • Prior employment in the financial services sector, Human Capital Management industry, investigative journalism and reporting, law enforcement, intelligence, or military services
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • A high level of personal and professional integrity and the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
