Senior Internal Auditor

SUMMARY

We are hiring a Senior Internal Auditor to play a vital role in leading and executing audits for the company’s internal audit function. Internal Audit's primary mission is to provide independent, objective assurance and advisory services to assist management in maintaining compliance with government and industry regulations, mitigating risk, and achieving operational excellence. This role will report to the Principal of Internal Audit. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as a trusted advisor and partner for financial and operational functions across the organization.
• Effectively plan and execute comprehensive internal audits of assigned business areas under the direction of Internal Audit Department management. These activities include:
• Obtaining an understanding of the areas under review.
• Evaluating and documenting the design of key controls.
• Developing audit programs to guide test work.
• Executing audit testing and completing work papers of high quality in accordance with Internal Audit department standards.
• Documenting internal control weaknesses or inefficiencies.
• Delivering audit results, conclusions, and key messages to management and collaborating with them to propose practical and sustainable remediation plans.
• Drafting and finalizing internal audit reports to senior management.
• Perform follow-up on previously identified audit findings and management’s action plans.
• Executing special projects as requested.
• Continuous focus on agility, innovation, and continuous improvement within the internal audit function.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management or similar
• 3-6 years of auditing experience with strong knowledge of risks and controls. Previous experience in audit-related, risk management and/or compliance roles would also be considered.
• A professional security, audit, or control-related certification, such as CPA, CIA, CISA or CFE (preferred)
• Knowledge of current accounting and auditing principals and internal control concepts.
• Strong presentation and written communication skills with ability to value diverse perspectives.
• Experience with the design, development, and implementation of internal controls.
• A passionate learner and a dedicated problem solver with a can-do demeanor.
• High-level of self-confidence, strong people and client management skills and demonstrated leadership ability.
• Must have the ability to work in a highly collaborative, team-oriented, and inclusive environment 
• Self-starter who demonstrates high professional ethics and is able to work without frequent direct supervision.
• Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally
• Experience in the Asset Management or Financial Services industries preferred
• Familiarity with agile audit methodologies.

It is expected that the annual base salary range for this New York City-based position will be $90,000- $130,000.  Actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individual's experience, skills, and qualifications for the role.  Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on factors such as individual, team, and company performance as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
