- Be a key member of our Integrated Communications team who support business units, corporate, people/culture, and executive communications.
- Inspire and Inform–Work across the business to discover, curate, and share compelling stories about our company, our product, our technology, and our people
- Support company-wide communications processes and manage company communications channels.
- Partner with People Team on issues response and crisis communications
- Help manage our company internal communications cadence and editorial calendar.
- Partner closely with our external communications and PR team to ensure alignment of messaging and a holistic communications approach on all internal and external communications
- Works closely with Gusto leaders to support communications to their organizations
- Help engage Gusties across multiple offices and ensure the scale of our communications as our footprint grows
- Make recommendations and craft guidelines around how we leverage various internal communications tools and forums (team meetings, Slack, memos, email, etc) and ground research in qualitative and quantitative data.
- Strong Comms expertise: 7-10 years of prior Communications Experience, ideally with roles that included a specific focus on Internal Communications, Executive Communications, Public Relations, and/or Chief of Staff roles.
- High emotional intelligence, matched with the ability to execute. Ability to think through a specific set of circumstances and connect dots across the company
- A good working knowledge of how to build a communications strategy (across multiple topics & news items), with the ability to measure success and scale the program as the company continues to scale. Ideal to understand how to utilize tools and technology to enable scaling capabilities.
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization, including senior leaders, and develop strong professional relationships and networks externally.
- Experience working for a high-growth, scaling tech company distributed across multiple locations
- Strong storytelling with the ability to flex for different audiences & topics, across different mediums. Strong plus if you have design and creative skills, and/or experience in video production/editing.
Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $133,000/year - $156,000/year for San Francisco & New York, and $103,000/year - $129,000/year in Denver & most remote locations. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.
Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.
When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.
