In 2022, SkySpecs launched an AI powered condition monitoring software platform for early detection of wind turbine mechanical failures. The platform uses live sensor data streams from vibration sensor systems and SCADA systems. The CMS business line has since seen tremendous growth, and now the ongoing connectivity effort will need a dedicated team - starting with you! 

What will I be getting myself into?

You will lead and support customers through the connectivity journey, helping them set up data and networking infrastructure that will allow data to stream securely from the wind turbine to the cloud. From your US time zone, you are optimally placed to support our US customer base, while collaborating closely with our software development team in Denmark, and your teammates in the condition monitoring service team. From time to time, you will visit the Danish office, to build trust and learn from the talented engineers behind the cloud platform and data integration software. 

As a Senior IoT Infrastructure Specialist, you will:

• Advise customer IT/OT teams on optimal connectivity strategies, both during pre-sales and post-sales engagements. This includes building and maintaining connectivity solution documentation.
• Collect and document customer technical requirements, so that internal resources can be aligned to deliver on time. 
• Deploy and manage SkySpecs data integration software in both cloud and on-premise environments.
• Monitor and troubleshoot deployed software to ensure data availability in SkySpecs monitoring platform. 
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot e.g. site-to-site VPNs for remote network connections.
• Work closely with the SkySpecs software development team in developing new and updated connectivity solutions. 

Requirements of the job:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience in network management, preferably in a wind farm or similar industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of network security protocols and data protection standards.
• Experience with cloud-based systems and IoT technologies.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills (in native-level English) 
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the patience to overcome 
• Experience working with CMS systems and/or SCADA systems in Wind. 

Bonus points for:

• Speaking a second language fluently e.g. Spanish
• Wind industry field experience and hands-on experience with wind farm servers
• Being located near Ann-Arbor, Michigan
• Leadership skills: Ability to build and lead a dedicated connectivity team
