Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior ISC Improvement Manager in the Hydrocarbons business. The preferred location is Houston, Texas but Midland, Michigan would be considered.
Dow Hydrocarbons purchases and processes feedstocks for use in Dow's global operations, and we work to identify alternative and renewable feedstock sources. We turn those feedstocks into basic chemical building blocks and intermediate products for Dow's downstream derivative partners. We are one of the largest global producers of ethylene and a leading producer of propylene, raw materials that are used to manufacture products that consumers use every day. In addition to ethylene and propylene, we produce other co-monomers (like butadiene and octene) and aromatics like benzene and cumene. Nearly all Dow businesses use ethylene or propylene as a raw material.
About you and this role
This role will lead the deployment of the Integrated Multi-Level Planning in the Hydrocarbons business. Provide leadership in deploying integrated supply chain end to end technologies, systems, and work processes to meet business needs. Leverages resources and knowledge both in and outside of the integrated supply chain function and business, to implement new technologies and improvements, which generate best in class performance. Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in job discipline or field to solve or lead others to solve complex problems. May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. You should be able to communicate difficult concepts to others and persuade others to adopt a different point of view. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
Responsibilities
- Develops a continuous improvement strategy and multi-generational plan(s) for Supply Chain in alignment with business and functional strategies
- Manages cross-functional projects to improve end-to-end customer fulfillment experience and to deliver key integrated supply chain initiatives
- Leverages corporate work processes and technologies to enhance business best practices
- Understands, integrates and leverages integrated supply chain MET and best practices into work processes and technologies
- Ensures businesses follows improvement processes and MET, including project charters, optimization tools, approaches and methods
- Applies Integrated Business Planning (IBP) concepts to improve the performance of the division
- Standardizes and implements work processes, systems, tools and metrics
- Proactively shares and ensures compliance with best practices and procedures
- Provides mentoring and development guidance to Business Supply Chain resources
Critical success factors for this role include: critical thinking, specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in job discipline, leadership skills in team management or project management, knowledge on resource requirements, risk and/or complexity, decision making ability and business and customer knowledge and network
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at a U.S. E6 rank or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher is required
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in a Supply Chain environment
- Prior SAP and OMP experience
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process
Preferred Skills
- A degree discipline in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or other Sciences is preferred
- Strong Project Management skills
- Six Sigma Green Belt
