Alliant Energy has an outstanding opportunity for a Sr. IT Analyst / Voice System Administrator to join our IT Contact Center Solutions team in Madison, WI or Cedar Rapids, IA. In this role you are part of a collaborative technical team supporting various external and customer-facing technologies, with specific focus on contact center telephony software. You will configure, administer, and support business applications, and analyze, design, code, test, and implement system projects with emphasis on telephony and customer contact center applications.

** This position currently offers a blend of working from home and in the Madison, WI or Cedar Rapids, IA office. The successful candidate must live in either Iowa or Wisconsin.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Completes analysis and specifies requirements for moderately complex to sophisticated systems using a broad perspective to figure out solutions. Performs technical work that may need the origination and application of innovative ways.
  • Leads & provides direction for project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting activities for projects. Reviews recommended cost estimates associated with recommended system development solutions.
  • Aids other analysts with design and acts as a resource for particularly demanding design projects.
  • Translates operational requirements to design software requirements. Plans and completes project systems involving operation, simulation, test, or support requirements with real-time applications. Develops documentation associated with computer software and analyzes software data acquired during systems testing.
  • Performs and may lead the testing of systems. Develops and advises on innovative or blended techniques to meet customer needs. Recommends application development team standards for testing. Develops critical measures to evaluate process and system performance improvements. Plans and performs unit and integration testing. Plans and conducts system testing to ensure system reliability prior to implementation. Identifies and assesses probable interactions of inter-related computer systems and anticipates the impact of changes in systems.
  • Plans for the migration of legacy systems to current architecture or modern solutions. Helps with the management of vendor software contracts and license agreements.
  • Works closely with multi-functional teams to determine and document system development business needs and determine optimum computer automation support to satisfy those needs. Gathers and analyzes information needed for accurate technical design including the identification and evaluation of purchased package solutions.
  • Maintains current knowledge of information systems and technologies. Recommends changes to design, development, and implementation standards when appropriate. Responsible for technical application development for all stages in the development lifecycle.
  • Provides functional direction and mentoring for various project staff.
  • Assists business team in identifying training requirements to support application and other information technology use.
  • Required to participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation.
  • Occasional after hours and weekends as required.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Telephony Contact Center IT support experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree - in information technology or related area.
  • Telephony/contact center technologies, including IVR, call routing and call recording.
  • Cloud and/or on premises telephony contact center applications and technologies experience.
  • CRM solutions experience and contact center integrations with those solutions.
  • SQL Server / Oracle databases
  • Windows Server and Linux/Unix platforms.
