Senior IT Engineer

Job Summary: 

Anteriad is searching for a Senior IT/Cloud Engineer with extensive Microsoft Azure Cloud & IT Datacenter experience, and outstanding IT technical support skills. To be successful, you should possess advanced knowledge of hardware and software systems and exceptional analytical thinking abilities. A top-notch engineer should be able to effectively resolve technical issues and implement cost-effective solutions. 

This role is responsible for supporting the management and operations of our Rye Brook local network and Azure Cloud infrastructure, standards and management to include backups, disaster recovery, security, systems, servers, monitoring, networks and storage. This role will execute and support our expanding journey to the Cloud (Microsoft Azure).  

As the Sr. IT/Cloud Engineer you will focus on provisioning, managing, and supporting local and Cloud computing environments. This includes the operational management of our network architecture, information storage and cybersecurity. You will work as part of a team of technology problem solvers, helping to solve complex computing issues from strategy to execution. Set daily objectives/priorities and manage IT resources according to business needs to ensure performance, reliability, and availability of critical production systems.  Responsible for day-to-day IT/cloud requests, security and monitoring hardware, software and services ensuring they are optimized for availability, stability, integrity, performance, and scalability.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Communication

• Serves as key participant in IT team meetings. 
• Confront and resolve technical issues openly and quickly. 
• Supervise Rye Brook IT staff. 
• Effectively communicates relevant Cloud/IT related information to leaderships and peers in other practices. 

Cloud/IT Management

• Manage and secure numerous production systems and applications in Azure Cloud environment. 
• Monitor and support core IT/Cloud infrastructure services.  
• Operate and maintain Azure VM instances, production storage, and additional Azure services. 
• Build and maintain relationships with clients (internal and external) by providing prompt and accurate service. 
• Mentor, train and delegate tasks to junior IT team members. 
• Coordinate the installation and configuration of cloud computing resources (Windows and Linux). 
• Research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to resolve system issues. 
• Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers (internal and external) always. 
• Develop comprehensive knowledge and documentation of Cloud/IT products. 
• Ensures that Cloud team is monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating performance and working on resolution of identified degradation trends and problem areas (Performance Management). 
• Develops and enforces IT policies and procedures. 
• Define, and lead the implementation of automated processes to minimize manual administration activity. 
• Forecasts demand for cloud computing resources and network capacity. 
• Define, implement, test, and maintain data back-up protocols of cloud/SQL Database data to ensure high availability. 
• Improve IT Security with Vulnerability Management and regular scanning of Cloud infrastructure. 
• Support and test a robust Disaster Recovery strategy for critical systems and infrastructure. 
• Assess single points of failure in infrastructure and recommend actions as appropriate. 
• Developing and designing network architecture and computer systems infrastructure. 
• Managing project timelines, budgets, and documentation. 
• Monitoring computer systems and networks for viruses, malfunctions, and errors. 
• Training the engineering team on new systems, protocols, and best practices. 

Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related management information systems field 
• 7+ years’ experience in with IT & Azure Cloud Infrastructure management  
• Experience with multi-region clusters, disaster recovery, database admin/operations, scripting/automation 
• Strong knowledge of Azure security architecture/infrastructure 
• Experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation. 
• Experienced with computer hardware, installations and support, wireless technology, and cybersecurity. 
• Proficient in Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems. 
• Excellent Cloud infrastructure management (Azure) 
• Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks. 
• Highly organized and detail oriented. 
• Excellent communications skills (verbal & written) and professionalism. 
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 
• Strong organizational and office technology skills 
• Scripting in one or more languages, such as Python and PowerShell is a plus. 
• Experience transforming IT infrastructure and migrating to a cloud-based (AWS/Azure) environment. 
• Experience managing IP based networks, WAN technologies, virtual server technologies, cloud, DHCP/DNS, SAN/NAS storage. 
• Experience with database management software, such as MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server. 
• Good scripting skills with knowledge of programming languages, such as Perl, Ruby, PowerShell, or Python. 
• Good knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP, IP, and OSI models. 
• Familiarity with operating systems, such as Linux and UNIX. 

Certifications (a big plus)

• CompTIAA+ or Network+ certification may be advantageous. 
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals

• Azure Security Engineer Associate - AZ-500 
• Azure Database Administrator Associate - DP-300
