Project Description:

The Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) is seeking an IT contractor for a 24-month project. They need an IT Senior Engineer to support the IT Project Activation Team, overseeing infrastructure design and project management. The engineer must have expertise in IT infrastructure, project management, and relevant certifications. Work will align with Metro's hours and require the contractor to provide equipment, maintain confidentiality, and stay within budget limits. Work products will be owned by LACMTA.

Role Description:

This role entails overseeing infrastructure design and project management, requiring expertise in IT infrastructure and project management. Responsibilities encompass providing equipment, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to budgets, all while aligning with Metro's operational hours. Work products are owned by LACMTA, offering a prime opportunity for an experienced IT professional to contribute to Metro's mission of efficient transportation services in Los Angeles County.

Key qualifications:

1.Technical Expertise: The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background in designing IT infrastructure, including data connectivity, radio communication networks, microwave radio links, network routers, switches, and related equipment. They should also have experience in implementing complex data, video, and voice communication systems.

2.Project Management: The candidate should possess project management skills, including the ability to manage IT construction projects from conception to completion. This includes coordinating, procuring, implementing, and working with various teams to ensure project success.

3. Skills & Qualifications: Candidates must have in-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure components and modern project management methodologies for IT and infrastructure construction projects.

Bachelor's degree in electrical, Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Relevant knowledge, experience and or related system certifications will be considered in lieu of education.

4. Certifications and Licenses: The candidate should hold relevant certifications, such as Cisco LAN/WAN/VoIP certifications (desirable), and BICSI RCDD and OSP certifications (also desirable). Having these certifications demonstrates a strong foundation in networking and infrastructure.

5. Communication and Collaboration Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are crucial. The candidate should be able to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, vendors, and Metro's IT teams. Additionally, they should be able to provide clear and concise documentation.
