This is an important initiative which is key to meeting our revenue targets. You will be responsible for our IT e-commerce team, helping lead us through the strategy, planning, architecture and delivery of the our e-commerce platforms across all BU's. You will oversee the e-commerce development team (contractors and Valmont) and report directly to the Director IT Customer & Commerce Solutions.

Essential Functions:

  • You will report to the Director IT Customer & Commerce Solutions and will have two direct reports and multiple indirect reports
  • You will require periodic travel to Omaha, Nebraska if working remotely
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work in the office 1- 2 days per week if working in Omaha
  • You will be supervisory in nature, managing the e-commerce development team
  • Lead a team of technical developers (including contractors) to develop the technical solution for the e-commerce solution
  • Work with business members to understand required functionality and advise them on the best practice and solution design
  • Develop schedule and task assignments for the development team
  • Coordinate deliverables for the functional configuration resources on the team
  • Work with the project manager (if assigned) to ensure that project schedules and budget are followed; if there is no PM assigned, act as the PM for development
  • Review and assign fixes for defects
  • Perform QA and technical evaluation of code
  • Understand and guide the business and team on developing the correct solution, minimizing custom code
  • Perform and track annual planning and budgeting (AOP and actuals)
  • Provide technical direction to the development team (must be "hands-on" from a technical perspective, with the ability to help trouble-shoot)
  • Research and learn new technologies
  • Define and lead projects or enhancements
  • Assess risks and inform the business and director of any which will influence the schedule or budget
  • Guide problem resolution and negotiation
  • Partner with business users and sponsors to understand the requirements
  • Help understand Valmont's strategic plans and align the e-commerce strategy to help achieve business growth
  • Perform employee assessments
  • Coach and mentor team

Other Important Details about the Role:

The Senior IT Manager E-Commerce is responsible for the analysis, design, development, and implementation of Valmont (VMI) E-Commerce applications use custom code and the SAP Hybris technology stack, including the integration to VMI ERP systems. You will have system-wide responsibility on complex projects and components and may solve technical complex problems and be called on to advise for other projects. You should demonstrate a logical approach to project analysis and estimation including work breakdown structure, scope control, project planning and project metrics.

What it takes:

  • Bachelor's with 7+ years of relevant experience or Associate's degree with 9+ years of relevant experience or 11+ years of relevant experience leading technical development teams
  • Seven years of experience in design, development of product information systems or e-commerce systems
  • Seven years of experience in system analysis, documentation and designing technical specifications of the processes
  • Seven years of experience in Java J2EE and spring framework development
  • Java 5/6, J2EE, JSP, Ajax, XML, XSD, Spring MVC, JUnit, GIT, Unix, Jira, Confluence, DevOps
  • Seven years of experience in web service API design and implementation
  • Good knowledge in SOAP/REST web service
  • Knowledge of project methodologies like Agile, Scrum, Waterfall

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess :

  • Master's degree in MIS
  • Experience with e-commerce system design
  • Experience with SAP Hybris Multichannel Suite 6.x+
  • Integration experience with: SAP ECC ERP, SalesForce, SAP Sales Cloud (formerly CallidusCloud), Integration middleware (e.g.: MuleSoft, Boomi, etc.)
  • Cloud deployments (Azure or AWS)

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. You are required to sit for extended periods of time, and talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. Minimal travel requirements for this position. You are frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with multiple files and forms and while working on the computer. You are occasionally required to move about the office. You must use proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. You must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
