We currently have a Senior IT Ops Support Engineer role within IT Operations available on our mid-day shift. This role will work on 2nd shift (afternoon/evening) hours and be accountable for monitoring system availability by providing the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and escalate batch, DB and system related technical problems. Knowledge of some of the following is required: Linux, Monitoring software, Ticketing system support, phone tree, MySQL, Cloud Services, and batch processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for monitoring and supporting client production applications.
  • Responsible for creating and monitoring jobs in our batch job scheduler.
  • Serves as the first point of contact for support for hosted software as a service.
  • Triages issues and resolve or escalate to other teams as required.
  • Participates in code deployments, deploys code and moves files as needed.
  • Prepares and resolves service tickets in our JIRA ticketing system.
  • Provide support for special projects.
Position Requirements:

  • 3-5 years experience working with Linux operating systems (command line, etc)
  • Experience supporting Cloud Services (CloudWatch, AWS, etc)
  • Some experience with MySQL, batch processing, and Ticketing systems
  • Some ability to read and write SQL queries and shell scripts
  • Available to work on a mid-day shift and rotating weekend on-call
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to other technical staff members and non-technical clients.
  • Ability to interface well with professional service staff and other non-technical members of the organization.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Ability to follow detailed, complex technical instructions.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
