Summary / Role Purpose

The Senior IT Project Manager plays a key role in the effective delivery of Ansys initiatives. The Senior IT Project Manager will manage and lead enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives and are typically assigned to large-scale, high impact projects with moderate to high risk and complexity.

The Senior IT Project Manager will partner with a Scrum Master to drive the Scrum cadence and ceremonies. She/he will work collaboratively with the Product Owners, IT Development Leads, and Development Partner(s) to develop a backlog, prioritize work, define a sprint plan to deliver the work, and ensure continued adoption of Agile.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct large-scale, complex projects that may involve multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Determine project milestones in coordination with the product owner, and actively measure progress
  • Collaborate with the Business stakeholders, Development team, and Technical Architects to oversee the work of developers and designers, review code, testing plans, testing execution and overall quality of the project
  • Work within the Business Stakeholders, Partner(s), IT development, IT infrastructure, QA and DevOps teams to anticipate and manage dependencies
  • Identify and track risks for all key deliverables and collaborate with the product owner, the selected Agency and IT teams on the mitigation strategy.
  • Proactively track progress for all key deliverables with the program and ensure to keep the project team aware of any new risks and project dependencies.
  • Collaborate with the scrum master to monitor project metrics for burn-down, sprint capacity, quality, and delivery.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly status reports and other required communication to ensure the product owner and the stakeholder are continuously informed and aware of the project status
  • Identify and facilitate the resolution of team staffing conflicts due to changing scope or prioritization to ensure efficient staff utilization
  • Establish a clear communication and change management plan to drive successful program outcomes
  • Ensure the projects follow the Agile Scrum process

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 7 years of IT Project Management experience leading cross-functional projects
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience with Agile methodologies
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools
  • Experienced in working with stakeholder to manage their expectations and engaging them to address project issues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to combine attention to detail with big picture perspective
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, including executive management, functional experts, and IT team members
  • Experience leading global teams comprised of Business, IT and third-party Implementation Partners
  • Must be able to think creatively and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with information technology vendors / suppliers

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business or Engineering
  • Scrum certification, PMP or Change Management training and certification
  • Experience in project management of IT initiatives for large companies
  • Experience working in a high growth, fast pace environment with mostly remote and global teams
  • Able to communicate technical issues in a non-technical manner to a diverse audience
