Job Description
The Project Manager's primary responsibility will be to manage and deliver multiple large, complex projects and meet organizational goals.
Job duties:
- Plan and manage projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
- Lead cross-functional project teams to successfully deliver projects using Agile project management methodologies.
- Determine and define project scope and objectives.
- Predict, plan and designate project resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
- Keep stakeholders informed on the project progress. Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
- Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements. Track project costs to meet budget. Prepare project status reports and variance analysis to ensure project remains on track.
- Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution. Comply with defined agency standards.
- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Facilitate change management activities between the project team and IT service groups, participating in all phases of the project life cycle.
- Evaluate project's success at completion based on achievement of benefits and value proposition assessment.
- Contribute to the development of project charters, value propositions, risk action plans, work plans and estimates for large complex projects; serving as a subject matter expert and consultant to mentor/coach team leaders in the use of project management concepts, tools, and techniques.
- Assist Project/Program/Portfolio Directors and Managers in ensuring systems and/or business plans are developed and documented in accordance with quality control standards.
- Contribute to continuous process improvements as a part of the EOHHS-IT/DTA project management office.
Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Expertise in Agile project management methodologies - Scrum, SAFe, Kanban.
- Skilled in using project management software such as Jira, Microsoft Project.
- Proven decision making and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional project teams.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience as a software project manager.
- Excellent communication skills.
- PMP/PMI ACP/CSM certification preferred.
