Job Description

Summary: This position is responsible for creating and maintaining quality system requirements. Translates business and system needs into solution requirements for designers, developers, and testers, using requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, verification and management techniques.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Drives requirements analysis to ensure in-scope business needs and application and data changes are accurately identified and translated into requirements and the functional integrity of existing applications is maintained.
  • Evaluates proposed system changes on moderately complex applications to determine effort, estimation activities, impact, and timeline within their area of responsibility.
  • Considers system capacity, limitations, and operating time while completing assignments.
  • Interprets requirements (written or oral) into technical program specifications for projects within their area of responsibility.
  • Ensures defined solutions and proposed data changes are consistent with other planned changes.
  • Measures and manages the quality of requirements and work products.
  • Maintains the knowledge base on existing application functionality and data structures and relationships.
  • Balances business need for changes with current system constraints.
  • Partners with Business Lead and other stakeholders to properly align proposed solution with operational roadmap/strategy and ensure the functional and data integrity of applications and services.
  • Delivers technology solutions to the business that increase business value and efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Participates in analytical activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Generates moderately complex software requirements, document and manage them throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Has thorough system knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis including but not limited to program design, testing, debugging, documenting, configuring, installing, etc.
  • Self-monitors assignments to report status to project teams and management.
  • Interacts and communicates effectively with all business contacts.
  • Use system and business knowledge to optimize delivery, triage issues/defects and quickly resolve issues.
  • Drives quality improvements - measures, monitors and analyzes production quality trends.
  • Ensures moderately complex system solutions provided meet business needs.

What You'll Bring To The Company:

  • Associate's degree in information systems or related field, or equivalent education and experience preferred.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of Guidewire application and at least one applications programming system and competent to work at a high technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis activities.
  • Must possess very good problem solving, interpersonal and communications skills, and the self-motivation to improve skills and abilities as generally acquired through one year of experience.
  • Should be willing to develop an understanding of the insurance business.
