The Role

Install, configure and maintain an organization's operating system, hardware and peripheral components. Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware and applications software.

Responsibilities

• Performs software installation, upgrades and maintenance.

• Applies necessary software fixes. Monitors systems and performance. Isolates problems within the infrastructure. Performs diagnostic routines. Installs and configures new hardware.

• Participates in root-cause analysis of recurring issues, capacity planning, security set-up and enforcement, documenting processes by writing technical documents.

• Provides instruction to other administrators as needed.

• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

• Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.

• Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.

• May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc.

Requirements 

• 5+ years of work experience in a senior capacity for IT infrastructure

• Ability to communicate clearly to various levels of management (including executive management), across various business functions (including engineering)

• Expertise in designing secure networks, systems and application architectures

• A strong understanding of cloud environments and experience in SaaS models, cloud architecture and cloud infrastructure

• Disaster recovery planning

• Strong understanding of identity and access management

• Experience with the zero trust, MDM, VPN and access management

• Excellent troubleshooting / critical thinking skills

• Excellent documentation skills

• Process oriented, with the ability to develop and execute IT processes

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP and networking concepts

• Experience in scripting such as Bash, Python or Powershell

• Expertise in either Google Workspace or Microsoft 365
