Job Description

We are looking for a Senior IT Systems Engineer who is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization's IT infrastructure. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of servers, networks, storage systems, and cloud services to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security. The Senior IT Systems Engineer will act as a technical expert, providing strategic recommendations and guidance on technology solutions, leading complex projects, mentoring junior staff and must be fluent in Mandarin, Taiwanese, and English.
Key Responsibilities:
Systems Design & Implementation:
β—¦ Design, deploy, and manage server and network infrastructure, including Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, and cloud environments.
β—¦ Develop and implement strategies for system optimization, capacity planning, and scalability.
β—¦ Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve infrastructure performance and security.
Cloud Infrastructure Management:
β—¦ Architect and manage cloud solutions in platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
β—¦ Oversee cloud security and compliance, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
Network & Security Management:
β—¦ Design and implement robust network solutions, including firewalls, switches, and VPNs.
β—¦ Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
β—¦ Establish and maintain security protocols to protect systems from threats and vulnerabilities.
System Monitoring & Maintenance:
β—¦ Proactively monitor system performance, security, and availability using tools like Nagios, SolarWinds, or Splunk.
β—¦ Perform regular system updates, patch management, and backups.
β—¦ Troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop solutions to minimize system downtime.
Project Management & Technical Leadership:
β—¦ Lead and execute IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and cloud implementations.
β—¦ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and timelines.
β—¦ Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
Documentation & Reporting:
β—¦ Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.
β—¦ Provide regular status updates and reports to stakeholders on system health and project progress.
Qualifications:
β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
β€’ 8+ years of experience in IT systems engineering, administration, or related roles.
β€’ Extensive experience with Windows and Linux server environments.
β€’ Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
β€’ Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
β€’ Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
β€’ Expertise in IT security best practices, firewalls, and data protection.
β€’ Proven ability to lead complex technical projects from concept to completion.
β€’ Must be fluent in Mandarin, Taiwanese, and English
