Senior Java Backend Developer

The work can be managed remotely – with time-to-time office presence depending on the team’s agreement and the demand of the respective professional area – from any location in Hungary. In case of some company events, office attendance is expected from the colleagues. Technical conditions for working from home are fully in place.

Overall Purpose of Job:

Compleo Charging Software’s e-mobility cloud platform intents to make the management and commercial operation of public charging infrastructure for business partners as simple and efficient as possible. Alongside with that Compleo’s product portfolio also provides EV drivers an easy access to charging infrastructure with innovative payment solutions and a huge charging network based on the eMarketplace. To extend Compleo Charging Software’s good market position in the booming market usability security and performance optimizations as well as new features need to be designed and developed.

Main tasks, roles and responsibilities:

• As Backend Developer you will develop software solutions for distributed and highly scalable cloud platform which consist of a variety of microservices and frontends. Via this platform business customers manage their public charging infrastructure and provide easy access to EV drivers.

• You will holistically accompany and influence the software lifecycle from requirements to solution design, development and testing to the productive product in the agile development team with a DevOps approach.
• Through active code reviews, pair programming, the exchange of best practices in the Architecture Weekly, a high degree of test automation and active processing of customer feedback, you ensure a high level of quality of your software.
• With your experience you will act as a technical sparring partner for your product owner in the development of the requirements from the booming electric mobility market, among other things via refinements of use cases and user stories.
• You will work with international colleagues in the scaled agile software development program using SAFe methodology and Scrum. 

Education:

• University degree in Computer Sciences/Business Informatics or similar education

Work experiences – time/seniority/sector:

• 5+ years of professional experience as Developer in Java Enterprise/Spring environment

Technical/ IT knowledge:

• Java, Spring Boot, Spring Integration, Spring Cloud Contracts
• REST and JMS (RabbitMQ or HiveMQ)
• Maven, GitLab CI, Jira, Confluence as well as MariaDB (MySQL), DocumentDB and Redis
• Experience with microservices and cloud architectures in the context of AWS and PaaS (ideally Kubernetes)
• Software quality assurance incl. test automation with JUnit, Spring Boot Test as well as load and performance tests

Language – with level

• Fluent English

Mobility requirements

• As per need – usually 2-4 weeks per year to Germany or similar

Required Skills and Competencies:

• You love solving complex problems and making applications intuitive to use
• Agile methodologies like Scrum/Kanban and ideally SAFe organized you past projects and you internalized their advantages
• You have strong communication skills and willingness to take the ownership on your applications together with your team
• Ideally, you already have experience in the EV charging business
