Job Description The Prime Finance Technology (PFT) team provides technology solutions that enable JP Morgan to be one of the leaders in the Prime Brokerage business across all aspects of this business. Data is at the core of all technology solutions and Data Platform is the backbone of business critical applications. The Data Platform team is charged with being innovative in taking advantage of modern technologies like Cloud computing, ML, while at the same time providing structural solidity, performance, and stability required from a backbone.
Prime Finance Technology is looking for a highly technical hands on Java application developer & technical lead with strong skills and experience in Core Java and databases and who is passionate about engineering innovative solutions.
Our software engineering team is responsible for providing business critical functions to institutional clients. You will be required to apply your knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals. • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
• Solid hands on experience doing development for business applications using Java, and J2EE technologies with particular strength in back end technologies and databases.
• Strong fundamental programming skills, expert knowledge of multi-threading, and object oriented software design skills.
• Proficient with RDBMS and columnar databases(e.g. Oracle) and SQL
• Must have experience and current skills as a hands on technical lead and demonstrated strength in leading engineering efforts and mentoring other engineers
• Good experience with message driven software patterns (Kafka, MQ)
• Proficient with micro services and Restful web services.
• Experience with agile software delivery processes including practices like automated testing and CI/CD
• Experience with Hadoop ecosystem technology stacks such as HDFS, HBase, Hive, MapReduce, etc. or any key-value database will be a strong advantage
• Experience building Cloud native applications with significant data components or migrating such applications to Cloud and/or experience with AWS platform and related services (S3, Dynamo DB, RedShift, Lambda etc.) will be an advantage
• Experience with or knowledge of Cockroach DB or Aurora DB will be an advantage
• Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals.
