Responsibilities

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Java Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be collaborating with UI, connectivity, and DevOps teams to come up with elegant solutions to complex problems.Workato has a positive, diverse, and collaborative culture—we look for people who are curious, inventive, smart, hardworking, and work to be a little better every day.

  • Design and implement components of Workato database connectivity: data connectors, connection pools, request routers, database bridges, etc.

  • Design and implement components of Workato messaging connectivity: connectors and message routers for Kafka, JMS, RabbitMQ, and Amazon SQS

  • Implement ETL/ELT features and building blocks for data pipelines

  • Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle

  • Write well-designed, testable, efficient code

  • Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications

  • Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.

RequirementsTechnical Skills
  • 7+ years of industry experience

  • Experience in building distributed systems

  • Proficiency with Core Java

  • Experience with Relational Databases, SQL and JDBC

  • Understanding of messaging systems like Kafka and JMS

  • Experience with test-driven development.

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

Optional Requirements
  • Experience working with Docker and other isolation technologies

  • Experience working with public cloud infrastructure providers (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud)

  • Experience in related fields (DevOps, PKI, distributed systems, data pipelines, etc)

  • Experience with dynamic languages (Groovy, Ruby, Javascript) is a plus.

  • Experience in building/deploying REST APIs is a plus.
