Senior Kubernetes Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to help build our mission of modernization and microservices CI/CD SDLC tools and practices, We are building an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) to build golden paths and enable developer self-service

About the Team:

As a member of our Kubernetes Platform Team, you will join a team of bright, fast-paced Software Engineers that are focused on building a platform for enablement and guardrails to allow a faster way to develop, build and deploy Everbridge microservices at scale.

What you'll do:

• Technical development work in the transformation to microservices-oriented CI/CD pipelines with infrastructure, orchestration, in a Kubernetes orchestrated environment.
• Develop, implement, document and evolve continuous integration tooling and standards.
• Communicate effectively with other engineers in a positive and collaborative manner.
• Collaborate across Engineering to ensure a smooth transition of deliverables through proper automated release processes.
• Experience creating software platforms to handle hundreds of microservices in production.

What you'll bring:

• 5+ years of overall technical work, with 2-4 years experience in developing build, development and deployment solutions for microservices architectures
• 4+ years of experience with AWS configuration design, network/VPC design and automated practices
• Software development experience in one mainstream language, Golang, Python.
• Extensive AWS experience with AWS EKS service and or other Kubernetes platforms
• Experience creating a service mesh tools like Istio, consul
• Experience with microservice deployment tools like Helm, Spinnaker ArgoCD
• Ability to develop microservices and release them as part of a pipeline to production.
• Experience with Gitlab CI or equivalent open-source CI in a UNIX/Linux environment
• Strong experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform
• Experience developing monitoring deployment infrastructure in AWS, with tools like Cloudtrail, Datadog
• Experience with release management, release packaging for Kubernetes (k8s) orchestrated microservices and deployment at scale
• Microservice security and hardening experience. FedRAMP containerized experience a plus.
• Certified Kubernetes Application developer (CKAD) certified a plus but not required.
