About the role
The Partner Growth Senior Lead, Retail will lead Shopify’s Retail affiliate program as a member of Shopify’s broader Performance Marketing Partnerships team. You will drive Retail merchant acquisition strategy through existing and incremental affiliate partners who market Shopify Point of Sale (POS) through their content, comparison sites, and performance partner platforms.
You’ll be responsible for deeply understanding our partners, their business models, and growth opportunities within the Shopify POS affiliate program. Your role involves activating high-potential review site affiliates and potential partners. This includes collaborating on content optimization, encouraging new content creation, and ensuring its accuracy based on your Shopify product knowledge.
- Develop and implement our affiliate strategy for Retail, including the growth of existing partners and onboarding of new affiliates
- Identify and build relationships with potential affiliate partners to scale our reach and impact of the program
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align affiliate strategy with overall business goals and objectives
- Analyze and report on affiliate performance to measure effectiveness and profitability
- Develop and manage the Retail affiliate budget, ensuring a high return on investment
- Provide leadership and guidance to team members, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication
- Perform analyses to better understand market and growth opportunities for review site partners who might currently distribute their referrals to different affiliate advertisers and/or competitor affiliate programs
- Recruit and successfully onboard new partners using a research-based approach, ensuring that they activate by developing content and producing high-quality referrals
What you need to apply / Qualifications
- Extensive experience in growth marketing at a high-growth company managing a high-volume affiliate program
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data to drive decision-making
- Experience developing and maintaining a high volume of partner relationships across geographies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proven track record of building businesses via standing up new marketing strategies across multiple markets and channels
- Adept at managing relationships with external partners and vendors
- The ability to think strategically and develop comprehensive, data-driven marketing plans
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a demonstrated capacity to balance speed and quality.
- Knowledge of ecommerce and/or SaaS industries is a plus
