About the Role

Kraken is a market leader in one of the most innovative and fast growing industries in the world. We are expanding and innovating throughout all aspects of the company to support this rapid growth and to ensure that we can effectively execute on our highly ambitious short- medium- and long-term plans for global product and market growth.

The Geo Operations organization builds the business by ensuring global alignment of goals and execution.

As Senior Lead Canada Operations you will be on track to becoming Kraken Canada’s next COO and play a critical role to accelerate Kraken’s growth in the region. You will be expected to operate effectively in a highly cross-functional context working directly with nearly every team and department in the company. You will have a unique opportunity to positively influence the entire organization with business decisions to drive initiatives that directly impact the company’s bottom line.

This role is remote within Canada.

The opportunity

• Report to the Canada General Manager to develop and execute Kraken’s Canadian commercial and operational roadmap

• Support the execution of new product initiatives (growth or driven by regulation) by providing cross-functional program management

• Coordinate with General Managers Product Finance Compliance Legal teams to build the product business plan design operational flows and articulate commercial strategy

• Present research in a clear and concise manner to key stakeholders and influence business decisions across the organization

• Develop recommendations to solve critical challenges employing a data driven approach

• Cultivate a network within the Canadian crypto industry and develop a deep understanding of crypto products protocols and trends to understand how to design processes around them

• Support commercial negotiations with partners to remediate product deployment dependencies and build analytical models to assess financial impact for company

• Work with the Marketing team to build launch plans and campaigns to drive consumer awareness and optimize growth

• Identify potential areas of inefficiency redundancy bottlenecked progress or scaling challenges between business functions product launches and devise and execute process improvements to address them

Skills you should HODL

• 6+ years experience in management consulting financial services corporate strategy program management or an equivalent position

• Bachelor’s degree

• Basic working proficiency with SQL

• Strong interest in and familiarity with both cryptocurrency and traditional financial industries

• Experience in retail financial products financial markets and derivatives products or Web3 protocols

• Experience and proven track record in business process management or operations roles in the financial services or technology industries

• Experience navigating complex operational hurdles in hyper-growth companies

• Experience in international markets and working across geographies

• Excellent organizational and workload management skills especially with respect to prioritization and proactive verbal written and interpersonal communication skills

• Entrepreneurial mindset with excellent attention to detail and follow through

• Strong contextualization and second-order thinking ability

• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule to coordinate with global stakeholders

• Creativity adaptability tenacity a sense of urgency and hands-on roll-up your sleeves work ethic

• Ability to deconstruct convoluted problems and develop precise plans of action

Nice-to-Haves

• MBA preferred

• Knowledge of Lean principles six sigma and/or business process management concepts

• Advanced user of Excel and Powerpoint with a good familiarity of G-Suite equivalents

• Intermediate or greater SQL working proficiency
