Job Description:

LOCATION

This job is fully remote eligible within the United States. Local candidates to Jacksonville, FL will have a hybrid schedule with flexibility to work remote up to 2 days per week. This job is required to work East Coast hours with a start time no later than 9:00 AM ET.

SUMMARY

Serves as the Lead Test Automation Engineer on initiative to migrate workloads off the mainframe into a containerized environment. Will be responsible for collaboration and implementation of test automation strategies necessary to validate migrated workloads.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads the design and implementation of new test automation strategies (these strategies will validate that migrated workloads behave consistently with mainframe counterparts)
  • Drives input on testing strategy and tooling decisions
  • Communicates testing automation framework to multiple agile teams
  • Creates the initial test designs, writes the scripts, installs the automation testing protocols, and reports the results
  • Works with Product, DevOps and Engineering team to plan and develop repeatable automated test suites
  • Validates APIs and automate API tests
  • Mentors Agile teams on Behavioral Driven Design (BDD)
  • Develops and maintains database queries to support data management for automation test suites
  • Participates in project meetings with other technical staff, business owners and subject matter experts
  • Uses several automation tools to automate test cases in a manner that promotes code reuse while reducing the cost to maintain
  • Reviews application in progress of development to test and ensure compliance with overall design parameters and corporate development standards
  • Reviews test results and directs further development
  • Guides other automation engineers and testers
  • May travel up to 10% (to Jacksonville, FL office)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
  • Requires 6+ years QA Testing experience with at least 4 years' experience doing QA automation engineering or application development
  • Requires 4+ years lead experience
  • Experience working with Java (Spring Boot - preferred)
  • Experience leading Automation Testing and/or mentoring QA Testers and Automation Engineers
  • Experience designing and implementing test automation strategies in a large organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience creating automation test strategies or leading testing for mainframe or monolith to microservices (highly preferred)
  • Experience working in a Behavioral Driven Design (BDD) environment (highly preferred)
  • Experience with modern testing strategies, methodologies, tooling related to APIs, Microservices and Event-Driven architectures (highly preferred)
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in team environment
  • Experience with wide variety of automation testing tools such as Cypress, Selenium, Mockito, etc.
  • Experience developing Restful API automation with Json or XML using API testing tools such as Postman
  • Experience with relational database management technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server or PostGres
  • Experience with nonrelational database management technologies such as DynomoDB, MongoDB, or Cassandra
  • Experience working junit
  • Familiar with data environments to perform testing
  • Experience with source code management tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • Understanding of the Agile methodology
  • Ability to work with distributed teams
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with focus on timeliness, documentation, and communications with peers and business users alike
