*This is a hybrid role based out of our HQ office near Portland, OR. In-office expectation is 3 days or more per week at manager discretion.

ABOUT THE POSITION 

As Columbia Sportwear’s Senior Leave Administrator you will oversee the leave of absence (LOA) process for Retail, Distribution Center and Corporate employees. As a process owner you will enable a concierge style, delivered services approach.

Your work will require collaboration with HR Business Partners, Legal, Payroll and Managers to address complex leave situations. In addition, the key to your success will be your empathy, and ability to interact in a customer-centric way as you guide employees through the LOA process. You will also leverage system reports and tools to enhance program efficiencies.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Serve as primary leave of absence administrator providing excellent customer service to employees through timely and accurate resolution of routine and complex employee questions and issues pertaining to LOA’s.

  • Advise and educate employees and managers on leave policies, procedures and programs.

  • In partnership with the leave management vendor, confirm employees understand their responsibilities during the LOA process.

  • Consult with HRBP’s and work closely with Payroll to ensure LOA functions are completed accurately and in compliance with applicable laws.

  • Research and remain aware of changes to leave laws.

  • Review, update and maintain all LOA policies and leave-related content on internal HR site.

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and ensure compliance with HIPAA.

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of LOA-related SOP’s.

  • Perform special projects as needed.

YOU ARE 

  • Customer service and employee centric with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

  • Detail orientated with an ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • A problem solver, applying analysis and critical thought.

  • Patient and professional under stress.

YOU HAVE 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, applicable certification or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources with a focus on leave administration.

  • Prior experience working with leave management vendors.

  • Comprehensive understanding of federal and state leave laws, including eligibility criteria, leave duration and documentation requirements.

  • Multi-state LOA administration experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of HR systems, specifically Workday and UKG Dimensions.
